I wasn't commenting on the opinion. It's one expressed by many people, and one I wouldn't have minded in reality myself (especially Megatron, as a replacement for the somewhat awkward Classics Megatron mold).

It was a direct commentary on the insult portion of that post.

I will concede that the insult might have been unwarrented (appologies), however even you have to agree that at times it seems like some of the decisions made by hasbro, were made by mokeys. But regardless, I would have liked to see this and WFC Megs released as voyagers.

    Classy

And about the only time I've considered that notion is in regard to the questionable colour schemes of a number of recolours (and usually exclusives, at that).

As far as design considerations and price-point allocations go, I've never questioned their rationale at all, even if I don't necessarily agree with the choices, there's always more factors in play than my personal desires, and as long as we keep getting cool toys, then I accept those choices without complaint.

Distribution is most of what frustrates me. I have yet to see a Gen. Dirge or Sidearm sideswipe or Gen. Blurr or WFC Soundwave in person. Never layed eyes on an HA Mudflap either.

And distribution has absolutely nothing to do with Hasbro.

All Hasbro does is ship the toys to the centralized store warehouses. Distribution to individual outlets of a store chain is handled by the stores themselves.

    More pics

Thought I'd throw some of my own pics of this toy just because I finished them recently.

Ha, seeing your pictures remind me how I love this figure! I'd like to transform him now and pose him a bit, but it's time to go to bed now.

Whoever still does not have him, get him already! *g*

P.S.: I just noticed you have him mistransformed, the feed need to be pushed to the back, than he has overall more stability.

Really? Need to check that one out. Though I must say, he never once hit the deck while I was doing this pictures.

Don't tempt me to bring out my other "Rambo series" pictures out :p

I got it myself from the forums here, but I think it was even written in the instructions, I don't remember. But it looks even better, because the back of the feet then align with the back of his legs. Just try and decide ;)

I screwed up my WFC Prime trying to do an Ultra Magnus custom, but stopped halfway because of the abrupt re-release of City Commander on BBTS. He's a good toy, but now I gotta find something that'll remove all the paint I put on him.

Or you know, I could toss away another 10 bucks and buy him again and just use my screwed up one for a Nemesis Prime custom.

He definitely feels like a toy that was originally a Voyager class but downsized to a Deluxe. That's one damn intricate transformation.

This is one of the only figures I've ever straight up lost. But he was gone. :(

It was a bitch trying to get a new one since prices have gone through the roof on this guy, but I was lucky enough to get him for Christmas. :)

Wow, I remember he was great, but I forgot that he was THIS great. The transformation is from an age where Transformers were Transformers, and they made you work for it. It's just such a joy for the ol' brain to actually fire when going from mode to mode.

And the transformation is just so totall. One mode is a brutish hulking beast, and the other mode is a smooth rocket truck. That one comes out of the other is astounding.

Anyway, everybody needs to go to their shelf, take down WFC Prime, and give him a hug. It's been 5 years, and I bet most of you also forgot just how great he is.

I have the Darkside Version of this. It's such an amazing figure. I love seeing pictures of the regular version. However I like having the knees covered by having those flippy parts rotated up instead of into his shins. (hard to explaing)

I've said since day 1, wfc prime is like a mini masterpiece. One of the last deluxe I would ever get rid of. Like you said, both modes rock so hard. I LOVE intricate, difficult transformations sometimes, and this one you can grab from your shelf, and sit with it like it's a Rubio cube and just transform it, and get satisfaction.
WFC prime is a perfect example of retail transformers at their peak.

    Zombie Thread !
I love this toy. And this version of Optimus Prime. I even got the pricy black repaint.
But since the first time I saw his alt mode, I immediatly saw this in my mind :
    IMG_0491.JPG
    IMG_0489.JPG

Only now did I find some fake grass to make it an actual display.
    Not very bad ass.
But I still like this toy. Despite it. Or because of it ? I don't know.
