I thought of this a while ago as I'm sure many of you have but I just think it'd be nice to see, after all I do remember Hasbro(?) saying something about the game being used as a base for later series.

Now, of course this would mean that we'd probably get a new Earth-based series that follows on after WFC, I was wondering what you guys think and what toys you'd like to see for it.

The evidence this is true so far would be the Earth-Mode WFC Soundwave we saw not that long ago.

Also it would mean the Deluxe Optimus Prime is like a preview figure.

(I posted this in the Toy section but I thought I'd repost here)

I assumed so since, well, they said so in the interview on this site.

I would like it if the game is indeed a prequel, it would be very interesting. I just hope we get equally as many toys for both lines.

I wouldn't mind as long as Megatron's voice gets a little better through out the course of the game.

Honestly I DON'T think the game is related to the new TV show, and here's why:

    **POSSIBLE SPOILERS**

In Moonbase2's PodCast with Michael Bell, Bell said that he was trying to get a VA part in the new show and he said that there was a character with the name of, "Col. Hawk". Now... to me this sounds like a human character, but the game takes place millions of year before contact on Earth, so what does this mean?

Do you even remember the first episode of G1?

Autobots fight Decepticons inside the Ark, they crash on prehistoric Earth, skip forward by a million years, then bam, right back too it.

Anything could happen, at the end of the game, we could see them leaveing Cybertron, or they could even keep going from the war on Cybertron to Earth in the show.

They said they'd use it for future stories, plus, I think after it said something about G1 Starscream's treachery people were starting to think it was in G1's continuity

It could work as a G1 prequel, which I'd like to see, but if it's a prequel to the new show too, that works too.

It's possible. The fact that one toy is a straight TF figure and the other is an RPM definitely leans in the direction of the sort of cross-pollination with the brand Hasbro usually reserves for its main lines (like Animated and the Movies), as opposed to its fillers (like Classics/Universe and the old BW-spinoff Universe line). So I definitely think there's a strong possibility that WFC will serve as the no-humans/pre-Earth prequel to a human-laden/Earth-bound show.

As for the next TF series being that show...well, if it isn't, it seems a bit early to be cranking out protos...

Dude that is seriously is not evidence, thats just Hasbro being lazy. When was the last time you seen a recycled design for a new main character. Really that toy is messing with people's "logic circuits" LOL!

But heres my theory on the 2010 franchise...

    Games
All pre-Earth stories will be told through videogames like War for Cybertron.
I'm hoping they go with "centuries" like IDW and the movie because being at war for MILLIONS of years just doesn't seem realistic.

Just think, any left over plans they may have had for War Within will be put into motion with gaming. Anything having to do with the past.

    Comics
Much like they did with Transformers Animated side stories. Using toy characters not used in the games or TV show. Expanding on story elements of the game and TV show.

    Toys
    Hasbro says buy their stuff!

    Television
The retelling of the Transformers war on Earth, all present day material.

C'mon dude we can't be having threads with actual answers in them or we will never get to the "awesome" levels of greatness like the movie forum :D

Obviously missing the point by "new" series I do mean the rumoured one.

If he's too busy with recording for TF3, we could have Neil Kaplan as a substitute.

Either way, it will be great.

Has anyone noticed that the OP created this exact same thread on the roughly eleven days ago? It even comes up at the bottom of the page.

On topic, I was under the impression that this game was kicking off a brand new continuity.

It's supposed to. The show could follow in that same continuity.

Right. That's what I meant. A new continuity that contains the next new show. I should have been more clear.
