Ebaying has given me a pretty interesting spectrum of prices for an original Soundwave. I've got the original box, Soundwave himself, all missiles, both batteries and Buzzsaw with both weapons. Soundwave & Buzzsaw are in really good condition for '84 toys - stickers are nice and crisp and clean, nearly no paint wear at all. I've had to re-glue one of the laser end tips on Buzzsaw's engines. His stickers are great, too. The box is not in the best shape - a bit worn; I'd say C7 condition. I'll get some pics further on down the road.

I was just wondering about ballpark estimates. $70? $90? More?

Yeah. I have to admit that I was waiting for some miraculous post along the lines of, "No way, dude! He's totally worth more than $200!" ...but nah.

Ebaying around again today, and checking Seibertron & the Allspark...Feh. Looks like I could pull maybe $120-$130 for him, max.

Wow, if I had a job I would totally take him off your hands for that price. It's a steal.

But even the ones at Botcon had gone down to about $200 (price hiking included). I said wow, shook my head, and wept a little inside.

I'd have to say around $85 is fair. Unfortunately, the Soundwave market is dead. There's just too many substitutes to choose from.

I think I'll sit on him a bit longer. Maybe movie hype will help push him up a bit. Worse comes to worst, I get to hold on to a complete G1 Soundwave with box and insert, which is, of course, such a pain and a real bother. :D

Nope, not too desperate. Also, I've got enough space to keep him around.
