Shipping. USPS is incredibly unkind with cross-country shipping rates. EDIT: fixed to be less specific.
It's that $10 mark I'm looking to stay away from, unless you mean the small flat rate box (that can barely hold anything...). It's one of those things, if I'm just buying a loose deluxe, I can't see paying more than First Class shipping for it. $3, give or take. (average weight being 3.5 oz, that leaves 9oz for packing materials... Plenty) But then most sellers require a lot more than I do. Priority mail in bullet-proof packaging with insurance and delivery confirmation etc etc... That's ridiculous for one deluxe. Overlord, yes. Armada Hot Shot, not so much. Or there's my favorite way that people out west try to save money on shipping... "I'll knock $2 off the price and make you wait a week and a half to get it because Parcel Post". So point being I'm interested enough in whatever you're selling that I'll at least hear the offer, but there's that whole "I can mail it to the most remote northern corner of Canada for $5 First Class International shipping, but I can't mail it to a populated portion of my own damn country for less than $10". (currently, 1lb 1oz to Canada is flat $6 for anywhere in the country, Parcel Post from where I am to LA is almost $9. Figure speed is about equal.) I don't mind paying for shipping if it's something that should reasonably have a big shipping bill, but on a deluxe it's just stupid to get a $10 shipping bill. You'd say the same thing if I tried to charge $10 to ship a deluxe to you. It works both ways. And on trades, I just pay the bill. If I agreed to the trade, I agree to the bill. That's how it works.
