Oversized Starscream reissue missiles = FAIL

 

All of these have been reissued already ... I want something new ... like the Dinobot's or other combiner packs like the Stunticons and Aerialbots.

Takara\Hasbro could easily remake the Dinobot's molds (Hell China did it pretty well and cheaply) and put the 5 of them out. Now that would sell like hotcakes  

 

Very cool. I don't own any of these guys, so this is a great excuse to add them to my gradually swelling G1 collection.

 

Had G1 Starscream as a child, but my parents traded it for a G1 Wheeljack & that got stolen by our neighbors 3 days later.

So, I'll probably pick this one up.

Very tempting! Thundercracker is the only seeker I got back in the day. Picked up Skywarp reissue in the early 00's. Never had these minibots. Have a broken Gears. Still have original Hot Rod in good condition but might pick up for MiB.

 

I\'ll buy these simply to support the reissue line in hopes other characters will follow.

 

Yeah, I was hoping they'd use the launchers and bits from the Platinum Thrust reissue instead.

I also noticed that the description makes no mention of the missile heads. It seems like this only comes with the null-rays.

 

What the shit is happening? Why does Walmart have this sudden interest in vintage product?

 

It's a case of 8 minibots, not a set. The case is 3-2-2-1 ratio for the 4 different figures in it.

 

To my knowledge, TRU held the exclusive rights for both Masterpiece and G1 Commemorative/Reissues. So either this was planned for TRU and picked up by Walmart or just a Walmart exclusive planned at the early stages of TRU demise. What is odd, however, is that none of the packaging shots show a Walmart exclusive sticker.

 

Devastator is interesting, I wonder if he'll be classic toy or the anime edition colors from Encore? Either way, the Japanese reissue was always way over priced, so this is pretty cool. Maybe they'll do Bruticus, too?

 

35th anniversary celebrations perhaps?

 

Those prices are ludicrous, especially for toys that'll be sold at Walmart and not some online retailer or Toys R Us. All they're doing is guaranteeing the toys will be clogging the shelves for months before they get stuck in the clearance aisle next to all of the 80% off Voltron and Constable Zuvio toys.

 

And I'd bet we'll get some more details about this line and its breadth & depth at SDCC.

 

I'll definitely look for Starscream, but I already have Bumblebee and Cliffjumper of the Minibots as well as Scrapper and Mixmaster of the Constructicons. Because I've got the Keychain versions of the Minibots, I may keep them even if I get the 8-pack, but if I end up with the Devastator giftset, one lucky sibling is getting Scrapper and Mixmaster.

 

Come on WM, announce a G1 Soundwave reissue next.

 

Because TRU is now extinct, probably.

 

Constructicons are a must-buy. I already have Encore Starscream and the mini bots but they're still cool releases.
