The clearance items in my area seem scattered. I don't frequent often, but they are never in the same location.

 

Saw G1 Optimus at Walmart in Orange County, CA. The box looks so nice, but at $50 I had to pass. Already have the TRU reissue and can't justify that price for just the cab. Maybe if there are any left when it goes on clearance. They had 4 on the shelf.

 

I like how this area never restocked at full price and other places are getting more at half off.

 

There are four Walmarts within 20 miles of me. They usually follow one of two patterns: Scattered (as in the department) clearance or an actual clearance aisle. Now, I'm starting to see hybrid stores with both and it makes trying to find something on clearance an absolute pain in the butt.

 

I stumbled across the reissue Prime's locally here. They were placed on the shelf where the Hot Rod clearance sticker of $15.00 was. A moment crossed over me of trying to be a jerk and get them to price match $15.00 for incorrect shelf tagging, but the better side of me prevailed. So, still a pass for now  

 

My area still hasn’t seen minibots at all and only restock was of hot rod (currently 28 on shelf) think they were marked around $26.

 

After seeing that the siege effects part fit on one of Primes blasters... Well...

 

A guy on Facebook did just that. Everyone praised him for it. It's a crappy thing to do.

 

Might be the same guy who did it from these forums!

I don't know how people do that. I was at Target the other day and they had a wall of IronMan/MegaManX marked to $7 with a handful of the others as well. IM/MMX rang up on the scanner as $4, the other sets $12. But it had the $7 sticker right on it so I brought it up at the register, even though I felt a little awkward trying to get that $5 off.

 

The Metrolplex box is definitely from 1986.

Forum noob here. I\'m unable to upload a pic right now, but this morning around 2 a.m. I bought Optimus Prime at my walmart for $50.00!!!! I\'m typing from my phone so cant really rant like i\'d like to but my main gripe is: there is NO TRAILER!! WTF.........It\'s just the tractor....
 

 

I can’t upload a pic from FB but I just want to point out to all you guys getting salty on some ppl getting it cheap this is a national thing ppl are finding it for $20 and under hell some have been labeled with a Clearance sticker for $15 so yay to us....carry on

 

Read Matty's post, that's what some people are salty about. Getting the store to apply a clearance price to a new item just because it happened to be misplaced there (accidentally or intentionally). Not cool. And kudos to Matty for not doing it!

We're all happy for your sticking it to the man and Wal-Mart, but come on, you get no pat on the back for this. I mean it's not like you were really taken by surprise by the item ringing up for higher than the shelf tag, you caught an error as you clearly knew what the real price was before you took the toy to the register, but you played ignorant to get a discount anyway. Good for you, however, you shouldn't really be surprised that some will see your actions as a tad unethical and not something to be bragging about, either.
