Well, since Jon Warden actually said they recreated those from plans, that would make him a liar....

FYI, JTPrime17 in another thread showed us this:
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/reissuestarscreamface-jpg.28127860/

First off, many (not all) of the reissue Starscreams apparently have a mismolded face with a dent in the left bottom part of his face.

Second off, you can clearly see that the face is new tooling compared to that Thundercracker. The chin drops down further and the cheek plates are longer. I wonder when that happened - as in, did it happen with this set of reissues or earlier and we simply didn't notice with prior reissues of the seeker mold.

Just be sure to remember this - The use of "Exclusive" is worthless to the product in this case - They were also fully at retail all over Asia & are still available via HTS so..."Exclusive" as a title seems to not hold much value unless they stupidly over produced the product...which doesn't sound like the Hasbro we all know short shipping vendors...

The most recent reissues before this Starscream I believe are the platinum Coneheads and the reissue of E-hobby's Sunstorm so if you have those I would check them. Prior to those two releases the Encore two pack Thundercracker and Skywarp didn't have the face mismolding/new tooling but use screws in the shoulders (the only difference I can see) which is weird idk if the other versions of the mold use screws in the shoulders.

Remember that "exclusive" generally only has meaning within a given country/region anyway, so the fact that it's different in Asia really isn't germane to this discussion.

That said, Hasbro's SDCC exclusives are better referred to as "HTS exclusives," notwithstanding that Hasbro themselves call them SDCC exclusives. But with that caveat, that is still accurate language within the US.

Yeah. I know Walmart has power in the US, but I strongly doubt that it extends beyond US borders. To think Walmart could force Hasbro into an exclusive contract that prohibits sales of a Walmart exclusive product in markets where Walmart doesn't even operate is ludicrous.

I have the Platinum Conehead seekers and the faces on all 3 were fine, no molding issues at all.

Again, not talking about the dent. Talking about the longer chin and cheek shields. It's weird the piece was retooled, apparently, for this release - and then they dinged it up. LOL!

All things being equal, I'm surprised they just didn't release a Thundercracker and Skywarp with this release of Starscream. It's the same mold and just a recolor of the plastic.

I honestly don't know if I would have gotten the other 2 seekers (Starscream is my favorite character) but I just might have if they were there on the shelf.

While there is certainly precedent for releasing two different-color versions of the same mold simultaneously, this is more the exception than the rule.
