Specifically, he's using an $8 base price. $32 is four times that, thus 300%.

 

Totally caved.      

I dug my Takara Encore G1 Devy out last night and after fiddling with it for like 10 minutes... I carefully put him back in his box and now he's all nice like on a shelf.

Now, this weekend I'm going to head down to a local Walmart and try pick up the Walmart Devastator G1 reissue at 0% mark up   so I can have one as a permanent desk toy.  

 

I decided to put the stickers on my Devastator. Then I busted out a few lights and snapped a few photos. Really lovin these figures!

 

What are the odds wal mart releases more of these figure in the near future?

 

Even though we've heard absolutely zero about these (unless you count the video of Warden & Co mentioning something like 'lots of G1 reissues), my money is on them releasing as many as possible.

It depends on how well they sell for Walmart to get Hasbro to do more reissues, which looks to be very likely. However, I can say that they appear to be slow sellers locally but that is due to them being more expensive here than they are on the mainland.

 

wonder If new woes by hasbro will hamper this at all.

Also wondering if demand will stay up for these or if it’s kust a quick rush at the beginning. Hoping demand stays strong as that will help get more g1 stuff (hoping for more MP g1’s).

 

I would consider paying more for one of the minibots on ebay, but the shipping prices from Canada are more than what they're charging for the figure - even in U.S. dollars!

 

The main issue on why the demand is through the roof on these, is due largely in part to the thorough mismanaged release by Failmart & their inept & outdated concepts on e-commerce & store stocking. They could have done two things to make this soo very much more successful for them: 1) Release vague schedules publicly on when to expect store appearances of the product & 2) Have a web site software system that actually fulfills orders as they contractually take customer funds vs. take customer funds, sit on the funds to generate interest & "eventually" return the funds when they acknowledge their software failed to accept or process the contracted order... Heck, why can't I purchase on walmart.ca when I'm buying a product & paying shipping to get it to me? I thought a consumer was a consumer & as a retailer, their job was to accept our money?

As we see in other threads, the fanbase is very vocal, emotionally unstable & unforgiving. You want more released, better pair the release up with a proper retailer or this will also go down in flames before it rises to the heavens....which would be a total catastrophe for so many of us fanboying G1's...

I've been seeing these at the Walmart down the road from my employer since last week. Hot Rod seems to be the more common one, but I've managed to see Devastator and Starscream as well at different times. Haven't spotted the Minibots at all yet. I haven't even seen a shelf tag for them.

 

A product that can't reach a buyer, is not a good product. Simple economics.

 

I've found them at Walmart. That makes me happy. I'm just waiting for Bumblebee to pop up.

I’m glad I stuck to my guns and didn’t fall into that hellhole of Walmart shipping. Got to see this wonderful sight in person. So cool to see g1 transformers on shelves again after 35 years! Picked a mint devastator and hot rod. Going back for SS soon

I flipped the plastic insert so I could see hot rod in the package. Used a hair dryer so the tape or box wasn’t damaged.

 

Nothing yet. Soo tempted by Starscream and Hot Rod though.

 

Went to Walmart this morning and saw 3 Hot Rods. Seeing him incorrectly in the package really annoys me. How could they get that wrong? Even worse, it would have been an easy fix. You'd never see a Barbie turned backwards in her box so that her ass is showing. If that somehow happened, it would have been fixed before it was distributed.

 

An easy fix, but I get why the misb crowd would not be happy.

My beef with the packaging is that the plastic tray holds Hot Rod at too steep an angle. Without twist ties to stay in place, he just tumbles out of his tray and collapses against the plastic window. It....doesn't look the best.
