I got it too. It's nothing special but I wasn't too impressed with any of the other exclusives. The 2 disc special edition doesn't sound too great either (unless you like interviews & that kind of crap. I don't.).

I have a feeling we'll be seeing a million more special special editions in the future. You know how they love to re-release dvd's every year or so.

I enjoyed the "Beginnings" dvd, and I'm not one to watch extras(interviews, deleted scenes, etc), so I liked the walmart dvd just fine. :)

Besides, we knew from previous threads what was going to be in this set, so it shouldn't be a suprise to anyone.

So is it just the prequel comic narrated by Peter Cullen?

It's the comic, but the stuff in the comic panels actually move. Plus, you have voice actors doing the talking for the bots as well as actual movie score playing in the background. For a free-bee, I think it's pretty awesome.

It's actually much more than interviews. They show how the vehicle modes were picked, modified, and shot. They also showed how the models were made and had many finished renders aswell as amusing animatics depicting scenes in early stages of development.

Someone should youtube it. I just got the Target exclusive. Ran up a bill over $400. But then again I found a whole shiteload of the evolution BB set. Bought 5 (2 for me, 2 for friends, one for nephew). Only $15 however

Nope. It's the one-disc movie release plus the Beginnings "exclusive."

That's why I didn't even consider it. I wanted the 2 disc SE release.

I thought it was pretty lame how they touted "NARRATED BY PETER CULLEN, THE VOICE OF OPTIMUS PRIME," when in reality he only speaks for about 30 seconds. I was however pleasantly surprised when I recognized Frank Welker as Megatron. The voice was different than G1 due to aging, but still recognizable.
