I've had $5 down on it at Gamestop since September. :(  Oh well, at least it's not like that guy who's still got his receipt from Software Etc. for Duke Nukem Forever that he got in 2001.

I just received an email that confirms my request for the cancellation of the order for SSBB. Poop. Doesn't look good.

Aw well. I am looking forward to the midnight sale at GameStop on that Sat.

Huh. The link goes to a "Product Not Found!" page, but if you do a search, it does come up in a list with SSBMelee, with SSBB still $19.82. But clicking on the preorder button in the list results in "We can't find a Walmart.com page that matches your request...."

I'll refresh several more times, but you know what they say about too-good-to-be-true things.

Well, my order was canceled as well. I guess the Wii will remain off for another year.

I wasn't really expecting them to honor it so I'm not too put out that they canceled my order. And I do realize the emails are all forms and automatic. But I still think it's kind of ridiculous that they don't have a form email for a situation that might arise where THEY might have to cancel an order. Instead they sent out one email confirming my request for a cancellation, and then another confirming they had followed my wishes and canceled it for me, the nice guys that they are. Of course I didn't request an cancellation.

But whatever. Tack up another bad experience with walmart.com. They're batting 0 for 4 now.

Isn't there a legal clause saying they have to honour it? You know, like when you see an old sign up saying somethings 50% off but it was for last weeks sale. But you still get it off because they left it up?

Nope. This is a very common misconception. Most stores (including walmart.com) have fine print exonerating them in the event of pricing errors. It's perfectly legal.

Now, some stores still honor pricing mistakes just for the goodwill, but there's no legal reason for them to do so.
