I was out today and saw both sets of two-packs out on the shelves at my local Walmart. I grabbed the Downshift/Cannonball one and ran it under a price scanner, it said to see an associate.

It came up as $10 back at the sporting goods register. Then when I tried to check out it came up as "Can not sell" or something like that.

I got shot down trying to convince a CSM to let me buy them. She claimed it must have been recalled or something for lead paint. I said I know for a fact that no TF has had that problem, but they wouldn't buy it. I suppose I could have said I knew it was a BF item, but didn't.

Oh well, just so people know, they are out there someplaces on the shelves, but good luck getting someone to sell it to you.

(I tried taking a pic of the shelves, but unfortunately my phone's camera didn't work so I apologize about any lack of proof.)

Not sure if it counts as news, but its sort of a first sighting on shelves I think.

You should have dropped your pants and took a huge dump right there in front of them for not letting you buy it.

Those figures not enough incentive to fight the crowds.

Lol, I don't think they are worth the criminal record. I'm fairly certain I'd lose my teaching job if I had one of those.

Yeah I would have been ok if someone actually knew what they were talking about and said it was a Black Friday item, but trying to blame it on the lead paint thing really pisses me off since no TFs have been recalled yet.

I really did want Cannonball though. I never picked him up before and could never find him after I decided that he was worth getting. Plus I still have an unopened Downshift I found on clearance like the day we first heard about these two packs a couple of months ago. I've been holding off opening him in the hopes of finding this two-pack.

Oh well at least if this 200 of them on a pallet is true, I may stop in at Walmart that day for the hell of it since my parents live less than 5 minutes away from one of them and I'll pass two more on my drive back home. I've had decent success getting in and getting out of stores pretty fast on BF in the past.

At least the trip today wasn't a complete waste since I got the 2-DVD set of Pan's Labyrinth for $9.

Still not any cheaper than last year's. Recalling last year Toysrus had selected deluxe 3 packs for $15.

    Mine wanted $30 for those...

I'd buy Downshift/Cannonball if I had the cash... The Excellion one is tempting, too.

You know, just the other day on another forum, some guy made a similarly false assumption about modern Godzilla toys (of the Bandai variety) being made in Japan too.

Toys like Transformers are designed in Japan, but only the most high-end collector lines and limited-run exclusives are manufactured in Japan. All current TFs are made in China.

I saw these two pack on pallets tonight. They were still in the boxes though. I got all excited for a second, then I realized that I really don't care about repackaged Cybertron deluxes. I wanted to find those 18 on hand Starscreams that were hiding from me.

I'd love to snag both of the packs, as the only one of those molds I have is Red Alert, but they're not worth venturing out into the mess that is Black Friday. Maybe they'll have some leftover a few days later.

Same thing happened to me on Wednesday night. I tried to buy the two packs, and they told me they were recalled and could not be sold. Too bad.

I'm going to lick all my TFs and see if I die!

Wow, is that all we know of TFs on sale at Walmart? That's lame. I was hoping to see Movie Leader figures on sale, since I'm poor/cheap and only have one.
