I'm a fat guy, so over the years I've figured out ways to change certain aspects of my life to burn more calories and build more muscle without distracting from my schedule. The most effective thing I've figured out how to do is to walk funny. I lower my center of gravity about 6 inches, which means when I walk I do not use a passive dynamic, my muscles are always engaged, supporting my weight, and pushing me forward. I never get much benefit from my momentum carrying me over a straight leg. At the apex of my stride I straighten my leg out as fast as possible and push off as hard as I can with my ankle. Walking like this is very fast, very tiring, and I'm getting to the point where I can do it for decently long distances without taking a break. I've noticed significant strength gains in my legs and my agility has increased. So what about you guys, have you figured out any body tricks like WALKING FUNNY that serve a useful function in your lives? And I bet you guys were going to think this was another absurd, useless thread like PUNCHING ICE and Clench your Jaw!
