Today I was at my local Wal-Mart and I saw a Spider-Man 3 heroes giftpack, sorta like the Transformers Robot Heroes gift set. I saw on the front where a label had been torn off so, me being my usual nosey self, I looked for another one. They had one more. What did the sticker say? Toys R Us exclusive! I was like "say wha???" Anyhoo....

I think they WERE TRU exclusives or they were WM exclusives that had been mislabled.

I saw the same thing here in CT. I guess they received shipments of these all over. Very odd indeed.

I saw a Target exclusive at Big Lots. Some sort of Pokemon set. Only one.

Big Lots buys what nobody can sell or wants to sell anymore and then they mark the price down usually.

Walmart buys out alot of excess stock of other stores too. Toys R Us included.

Think about it... Toys R Us orders 1000 sets, spends say, $5 per box set, sells them at $10 each, but only sells 200 sets. Now, the rest sits in inventory, and other toys that WILL sell can't get shelf space. Toys R Us is in dire financial need.
Wally comes by, offers $2 per set. TRU gladly takes them up on the offer, coz it offsets the loss a tad, and they don't have to worry about selling them now.

Wally takes them, sells them at full price ($10) but they make $8 per set, as opposed to only $5, and if the toys don't sell, Wally loses next to nothing considering their 4 BILLION dollar profits each year, compared to TRU's "still in the red tape, but at least we are still barely alive".

Yep, Walmart will indeed take anything.

I found 2 25th Anniversary Cobra 5 packs a few weeks back. 1 5 pack had 5 Cobra Commanders in the box. The 2nd 5 pack had 5 Destro's. And you could clearly tell they had been returned.

At Target we got a shipment of clothing with Wal-Mart tags on them. We were wondering how in the world they got on the truck.
