Just got back from the closest Wal-Mart here and they had raised the price of both Classic and Animated deluxes to $12.88, well I gusse that helps me out on what to cut out when things are getting tight.

Yuck, they just got back to 9.96 here. If they get that high, I guess it's good that there's only one more conceived deluxe I even care about getting. The 7.77 price was good to me for a long time.

$12 is still dirt cheap for a deluxe. We're in 2009, not 1984.

confirmed, just got hound and cyclonus. And $13 may not be much to some, but it will be a deal breaker to most. I know I will have to give certain figures a second thought.

well, if target continues and raises their prices, i'll just have be even more picky on what i buy...but, its all ultimately understandable...the economy is getting rough, prices are finally gonna climb...

Considering that most action figures are going for that price, I'm not surprised. $13 will make me drastically reconsider which Deluxes I do buy. No more picking up character that I'm on the fence about anymore.

Hmmmm, looks like it's a good thing that all I have left to pick up are Ratchet and Hotshot then.

Weird though, I stopped at Target yesterday and the new tag price for deluxes was $10.99, but thankfully the Smokescreen and 2 Dinobots I picked up still rung up as $7.79.:rock

Inflation even hits the toy isle, nothing is safe. But the $10.99 deluxe prices at Toys R Us look a lot more appealing now.

13 bucks really isnt a big deal folks... and Im a relatively Poor Bastard!!! I really enjoyed the 7.77 while it lasted, currently its at 10 bucks but 13 bucks wont be so bad either... Considering how complex deluxes are these days (now if it was still A/E/C days, 13 would be a bit expense for those fairly simple toys)

Anyway, for the highly detailed and complex figures, its only appropriate... And you woulda spent that 3 bucks on something like a burger or a 7 dollar cup of Joe (wtf?), or whatever.

Ouch. That's like $25+ US people. I won't even complain that in Canada deluxes are $14.99 (over $17 after taxes).

I understand not liking such an increase (we Canadians shop in the US too), but really that $8 sort of price was ridiculously artificially low.

^And in France a deluxe is 24.99 euros.

For serious. Someone needs to call the whaaambulance for the entire US collector community.

For US fans I say this: Welcome the real world. Where the average price across the planet for a deluxe is $20. When you start paying $30, $40, and $50 for voyagers, ultras, and leaders respectively. You might get some sympathy from me. Till then STFU. :thumbs2:

Never forget this is the fandom where people regularly say things like "will wait for clearance!" or "I would never pay more than $10 for a Leader class figure!".

Yeah, welcome to the real world.

An up in price won't keep me from buying the Transformers I want. I'll just have to cut back on eating I guess.

    Not Anymore,

But this has been the MSRP Since the First Universe line came out, Wal-mart has been underselling the MSRP because they get(Force) Bulk Discounts on the Seller(Hasbro) in order to be more attractive to consumers to get them into the store so they will buy other stuff (Groceries and clothes) which is where they really make all their money.

I remember plenty of people being mad about KB toys selling Deluxes for 12.99.. now they can be mad at Wal-mart too.

1984 a ' Deluxe ' was about 8.99... and now its 12.99 25 years latter.. only a 4$ increase in 25 years? Thats pretty darn good..

All the Foreign people need to get off the soapbox too, There are far more socio-economic reasons involved in your toys costing a lot than simply " Them being cheap " in the US.. And they are not Cheap in the US. 13$ is what some people make for 2 hours of work, Minimum wage was(Is?) less than 6$ an hour in the US not to long ago.

    This

I know it seems it's a lot of money for a deluxe, but I think we all got spoiled with the WalMart low prices. $13 is actually very resonable IMO
