The Takara one suffered from the same problem as the Hasbro one - instead of being virtually ALL white/grey, it was virtually ALL red to the point of overkill. This new version finally did what neither of the previous ones did - mixed both colors together and finally gave him white/grey arms & thighs more akin to his G1 color scheme. The only downer is that they added a bunch of blue (and a yellow sound button) which imo doesn't look too good.

i want the powerglide! ill probably passonthe insecticons due to the fact i have 2 out of the 3 G1 insecticons and ican get baombshell to complete the trio for about the same as what that 3pack will likely go for

 

Both will be bought on site! Glad I held out on buying grey Powerglide and the pricier Japanese version.

And any more hardcore fans in the room follow it up with the obligatory "And awaaay we go!"

As far as the Insecticons' names go, just be glad you made it this far. Canadians were subject to "Beasties" because I guess the "Beast Wars" name would make kids violent. Ugh!

 

I got the Henkei Powerglide but prefer the new US G1 deco so I'll be putting my Henkei up for sale. Bummed that this is a Walmart exclusive though.
Got a good deal on some G1 insecticons earlier this year they had a few missing pieces but were in otherwise good condition however I sold them at a local collector show when the TRU set was announced. Can't wait to get them and Perceptor.

 

wow, the Hasbro one (blue flames aside) really schools the previous releases ~ Red chest, Grey hip piece and Grey arms FTW!!!
almost looks darker too, but that might just be the lighting.

ok, not crazy about Jhiaxus, but that's a heaping slice of awesome right there.
(ironic, though, that the actual g2 cyberjets were significantly better then the Cyb Thundercracker mold, aka floppy mcflopskin...)

ugh, i hate that thread, it makes me want to spend lots of money on molds i already have. I NEED a Henkei Convoy.

 

I support the original Deco of powerglide. Very realistic, a progression towards g1 characters in modern war style progression.

The walmart exclusive repaint is a full g1 nod. Which fits better as a exclusive rather than the mainline. I presume.

like the star badges that break up the red so its not a complete block of red to the eye.

plan to shelve as the commander for my other universe powerglides (toys r us had a big sale a few weeks ago so I have a.... couple.)

 

This will be my 4th version of the mold.

A near-perfect G1-homage color scheme on Powerglide. Too bad they had to ruin it with those garish blue chest pieces... Looks like Henkei it is for me.

Insections on the other hand are just all around win.  

 

Okay, I am SERIOUSLy contemplating getting this Powerglide and selling my original one.

 

The Japanese bookstyle of the Insecticons are better. Not only do they come with Energon cubes but Kickback's wings are pointed. The original American release had the wings rounded for safety reasons. I'll stick with my TFC version. Changing their names kind of blows too.

 

the best set of insecticons are the ehobby diacloned colored ones i think....nice diaclone colors...no garish G1 purples and yellows....

I am glad that they are reissuing the insecticons in a decent affordable price though...

 

Would anyone else have preferred new classics insecticons rather than a reissue. yeah the originals are cool and all, but. . .

 

Oh man, can't wait for these!!! Hopefully BBTS puts it up for pre-order soon and doesn't jack up the price too much. I really hate going around bay area TRUs/walmarts/targets, cuz they always have jack squat in terms of the exclusives.

 

I think its cool that there redoing the insecticons but my dad got me the japanese remake that came with energon cubes.
