I've worked retail for years. Doesn't mean I agree with the way every store does business under all possible circumstances. Especially Wally, there's whole websites about how shitty they are,and it goes well beyond action figure street dates.

Uh,the OP didn't bitch anyone out. He asked if he could buy it,it wouldn't ring,he said he'd come back later. Wow,what an IDIOT,amirite?

Kind of like the Punisher, but annoying and needless?

Mine told me Soundwave had lead in it because it was made in China. I was more amused than annoyed.

Uh, I wasn't quoting the OP. I was quoting most of you guys that Moan and Whine about not getting your way in a store is all

There will always be that one exception or two, but most of the time, it's the Customer.

A lot of street dated items will not ring up at registers and there's nothing an employee can do about it even if they wanted to. Only thing would be to take another figure (another TF deluxe for example) and ring that up.

Employees who do not know that an item is street dated when they ring it may say that an item might have been recalled since they are unsure when the register shows "cannot be sold" and doesn't specify why it can't be sold.

*sob*, so this, uh. *Sob* bad man *Sob* woiuldn't sell me stuff *boo-hoo* before he was supposed to...(crying and whining) and so *Sobbing* wal-mart sucks so bad that *sobbing* i wanna blow up a building with people in it, all over a damn toy or two!

is that what you are trying to say?

    EPIC FAIL.
    No toy(s) are worth that.

I wouldn't go that far over a MISB Max.

It is the 21rst century and there are more than plenty ways to get what you want.

(don't care if you were only joking. thinking out loud like that is a social faux pas>)

I think that's part of the part of the problem. Wal-Mart became so huge that they ended up controlling a huge section of the toy market even though it's just another item to them. Instead of worrying what their customers might want they just stock whatever seems close so Corps and GI Joe or Transformers and Power Rangers is all the same thing to them.

With so many toy stores out of business and the mom and pop toy stores no where to be found customer service is a tough thing to find. We just lack the sort of places that depend on reading the pulse of their customer base rather than depending on being the only choice in town.

Not really sure though how we will reach a point where the mega retailers will not have their current influence over Hasbro and Mattel.

Thank Jebus the movie toys will be/are released today/tomorrow so threads like these will stop...or at least until May 2012 when the next movie line will most likely get released.

Later on today I'm going to my nearest Walmart to see if they have any ROTF toys on the shelves.

    in other less sucky news,

    target<>(not equal)shit

I just went to my local target and picked up the only movie figure on my list, sideswipe. they were fully stocked with deluxe, voyager, and those scout figures with their oh so cute packaging.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone expressing their desire to blow up a store becasue they were unable to purchase a much-wanted toy.

    Interesting.

    LAME!

I went to the Alexandria, VA Walmart at around 10am this morning. They had an entire row full of ROTF toys but they were wrapped with clear saran wrap & had a paper saying "available after 5:00pm May 29" LAME!!

I already bought Rampage & the airplane dude (don't remember his name) at Target on Tuesday, but Target never restocks their shelves :( .
