    Update 2 page 2

Hi all here are some very early Scary shots of Sludge V3.

He will now be taller than Grimlock and will be closer to the G1 cartoon, Rounder, Taller, Fatter and more agressive.

Like I said early days I only started this Monday but i hope to get him ready to cast real soon!

Let me know what you think but Radicons the Icing a cake joke has all ready been used lol!!!

And the primer shot was just so that I could see if I was on track.

    Back soon DS

Very NICE! Lovin' this version already! I hope he keeps the same level of articulation and detail (really diggin' all the circuitry and gears on the wings man), as I love the range of movement in the hips. As much as I love Slag, I felt a little limited in poseability due to clearance issues in the shoulders and hips, so definitely hoping for a more poseable bot this time around. A great start Arun!

Looking good so far! As to being a tiny bit bigger… that doesn’t bother me. With the fact that he changes into a Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus… he would have been a tad bigger anyway. How are you going to do the tail section? I’ve yet to get Grimlock, but how they have his tail tuck up into his feet is a nice touch. The thing with Sledge here is that he’s a big boy… & if you lay his tail on the sides of his feet… it will make him look even larger. Any thoughts on how you would do his tail?

I have sat looking at the tail and rear legs now for 2 days just thinking how it will work. I think i an going to keep it much the same as before but i may lay the tail around the back of the legs. Grimlock's set up is a little to difficult to hand make and reproduce.

    Update 2

Hi all here is a small update

Smoothed down some bits to round them off and started looking at the Arms and legs.

I am now bashing my head against the wall trying to work out a better place for the tail to sit in bot mode.

Still got a long way to go but I think he is coming on really well

Yeah… I hear you (about the tail). I think laying it on the back would be the best to go. As neat as a gimmick as it is… Grimlock’s tail is a little hard to do. I agree. Just looking at his dimensions, laying the tail on his side would make him look bell shaped. Skinny on the top, but wide on the bottom.

Just as a thought, how are you going to do his tail? Is it going to be solid, or jointed as well? If the tail has segments to it… that might aid in transformation & posing. Just as an afterthought.

And just as an afterthought… have you looked at the construction of some of the dinosaur… even snake ZOIDS for reference? Different toy, different construction… but looking at how some of the tails & necks are designed might come in handy for a Dinobot design/fodder. Just a thought!

And I don't know if this helps, but I found these images just in a random search.

    MP Sludge Update 3

Hi buddy and many thanks it makes me feel good when i get these positive comments and i have to say though i have learnt from the best.

Hi guys here is an update for you.

I was really not happy with the rear legs and after seeing Wikkid's Slag I had to change them. I used a hinge and magnet to hold them up in alt mode and i think they look much better plus fixing the stability of him. I have also been working on so new leg parts that i have scratch built this time with a larger ball and socket plus I have added some back and forth movement as well as the lower part being able to do a 360. I have not fitted these yet because i have painted them to make a mold then i will cast them and see how they come out.

still looking at the tail and next up will be the neck and head.

Let me know what you think and I will be taking orders soon although the list is already fairly long i still have some room for others. If you are interested send me a pm and i will add you to the interested list so that i can message you when i have pricing details.

    All the best DS

I love the alt mode very much coming along nicely. Im not a fan of kibble as you know, but I like how you incorporated Wikkids idea of fold the legs back. In the fron view they are hardley noticable now. Nice work... Love this WIP

Oh, and the nex lge with the extra 360 swivel articulation. That is great, I always like to see that bit of articulation because its great for posing and stability of any figure
