For those who have both versions of Megatron from the ROTF line, which is the superior one - Voyager or Leader?

Tough. The green on the Voyager annoys me, so I went with the Leader.

This should be in the toys section, I believe.

I'm saying 'neither', even though there's not poll option for it.

Bayformers Megatron hasn't gotten a single toy deserving of him. Every single one of them has come complete with something to keep it from being decent. The closest I've seen to acceptable was the Premium Megatron of the first film. The oddity that is RotF Voyager Megatron, due to its color, had me originally thinking he was some form of Fallen/Megatron combined, but no. While the larger right hand is designed a lot like in the film, and the mold does beef up his left, gimpy arm, he's got way too much green, kibble, and busted-teeth-skeleton-face to pass as a proper RotF Megatron. Though the vehicle mode isn't a far cry from his movie incarnation, again color aside. And the Leader class? Other than the qualifiers of having a gimp left arm, being mostly silver, treads in the lower legs and general head shape, I'm not sure wtf he is in comparison to the film's Megatron. It almost looks as though he suffers from the same problem the first film's Prime did, in that they had to work off preliminary artwork for the toy and what made it to screen ended up being changed highly.

I'm just not sure what the hell's up with Megs.

I can't automatically go for either mold. The Voyager has a very nice paint scheme for something, but that is not Megatron in his Revenge of the Fallen form. The alt mode is very accurate to his screen alt mode, however this causes to have a kibble-tastic robot mode. Also, his robot seems really thin. Then the Leader is too CGI inaccurate and there is really no paint to speak of on him. So, neither. Hopefully, TF3 will produce a decent figure.

After watching a few video reviews, I decided to get Voyager Megatron instead of the Leader version. Never mind about the deep sea green color or the massive back kibble; I wanted a Megatron figure that was highly poseable, and the Leader version fails with its one-piece right arm. Plus, the Leader version transforms into a tank, but shows no evidence that he's also a Cybertronian jet.

So my vote goes for Voyager Megatron.

Hard to say. The Voyager is a lot more fun, but the Leader brings the appropriate menace is is generally more accurate in 'bot mode. And is less shell-former-y.

Word! His completely straight right arm is sort of a bummer, but posed right can look cool too. Besides, I will soon mod it with an elbow and some other things... then he will be as close to perfect as can be expected.

His green colour represents the scene when he arises from the sea ; clearly the green ambient colour ; hence it is very movie accurate.

Besides, tanks are supposed to be green.

Cybertronian tank I hear someone say ? Well, the tanks of the near future will be very much like Voyager Megatron's tankmode ; low profile tanks, with a relatively light weight. Minus wings of course, but they will be light enough to be transported by airplane.

Check out this vid, as Meg's tankmode is similar to it : YouTube - U.S Army Future Combat Systems 40t Prototype Tank

Personally, I think G1 Megatron is still THE best Megatron ever. The aesthetics of the gun mode really translate into his robotmode ; making it something very special.

However, ever since he turns into something else due to gun laws, I think Voyager Megatron is one of the best 'tank' Megatron's yet ; which puts him aside G2 tank Megatron imo.

Tbh, I do not have the ROTF Leader Megatron, but imo, he lacks severly due to compromised engineering caused by all those silly electronic gimmicks.

    So, I vote Voyager Megatron.

    Lol, nice.

But I rather love the MP Megs. Freakin' Walther P38 the size of a Desert Eagle. :D

    ok so i voted leader.

    heres why.

although voyager megs is a lot more screen accurate to the cgi model ( minus the paint scheme), overall i find leader megs a much better transformer, with more playability and a fucking awesome tank mode.

voyagers tank mode is more accurate but i think its kinda weak compared to the awesomeness that is the leaders tank mode

I have to go with Leader. Leader Prime is a great toy but he would tower over Voyager Megs too much, and the only reason I would get a movie Megatron is pretty much to be an accessory for Prime. Leader would fill that role better.
