I remember a thread from a while back that had a voyager grapple figure listed in Walmart's (perhaps it was another store) computer system. Any news on this figure? I'm hoping it's a repaint/retool of Universe inferno.

Not yet. But Banzai-Tron was first seen in that list, so there's a good chance at seeing a voyager Grapple... We just don't know what mold it's gonna be. Presumably Inferno, but I wouldn't expect any remold...

I dunno. I didn't expect a new head for Lio Prime.

I am sorta confused on that, though. Generations has been confirmed to be deluxe-only, and Grapple certainly isn't movie-verse....

Neither was Fracture, Breakaway, Grindcore, Big Daddy, Jetstorm, Wing Blade, Mudflap or Inferno [Armada Red Alert repaint] but they still made it into the Movie 1 line

I imagine that if it is indeed the Inferno mold, they would at least remold it enough to turn it into a crane truck rather than a fire engine.

Or, (hopefully) Hasbro could do the unexpected and make an all-new crane mold in the style of Voyager Sea Spray.

Yeah, but all of those were store exclusives. This one (presumably) isn't.

If you check the listings, you will notice that its listed as "ROTF Voyager Grapple".

That said, even if its considered part of ROTF, they still could use the Universe Inferno mold. At this point we don't know what its going to use.

Knowing how things go, it would most likely end up being a straight up yellow recolor of Uni. Inferno. :D

and then a 3rd Party will make a crane for it, like Inferno ladder :)

I think it is odd when they repaint every other class but some Voyagers only see the initial scheme, you think they would repaint them more since they cost more.

Grapple would be nice, and maybe easier to find for people that never got or found Inferno.

Technically, Generations doesn't have Voyagers. But like Seaspray, putting him in another line with asthetics of either line suits it well. I never considered they could do a new mold. After all, Seaspray is the only new mold Voyager we know about, right?

Exactly, there's a good chance that it's an entirely new mold. But even if it's a remold of Inferno, I'll still buy it. Inferno is a great mold anyway.

Just because it's in the line 'Transformers' doesn't mean it's the Movie Universe. It just means that the figure doesn't fit into the Generations Deluxe criteria.

I expect a recolor/remold of Inferno. I am also giddy about the prospect as I love that mold!

I agree that this would be business as usual, but even Hasbro doesn't usually name figures THAT inappropriately. How would they justify the name "Grapple" on a fire engine?

I will take a Grapple, that reminds me I have to get that ladder set for Inferno.

If it ends up that Grapple uses the Inferno mold with a slight remold to add a crane I would be happy. If Hasbro decides to do a straight up repaint of Inferno I would much prefer them make it Hot Spot (or Hot Zone) instead.
