ok some one told me that he has a shelf date of 8/26....... does that mean if i ask an associate to get one out of the back for me that they wont???

i remember going to get the magnus/skywarp 2 pack and the guy said it had a shelf date but the girl still told him to give it to me.....

It means ask politely and try not to look like a scalper. Good luck.

Do what I did.. call the Targets in your area and say the head office gave you a DCIP number for a product you need to locate... give it to them... if they have it, request they leave them at the front desk for you.

I've had 50:50 luck with this recently; I managed to get G1 Starscream on Saturday, but the Target I checked for G1 Jazz wouldn't release them early (different stores).

That's the most important part right there. Be polite at all times and you're far more likely to get what you're after. And, in this case IMO, 'polite' doesn't just consist of 'please' and 'thank you'. It also entails explaining what you want clearly, asking at the customer service desk (rather than corraling an associate), going in with a DCPI number (available in one of the stickies in this forum) to make looking the item up easy and not copping an attitude at any point in the proceedings (ie - the "stupid minimum wage retail clerks" attitude I see crop up in some threads here). And even if they don't have the figure or can't/won't release it early, thank them for checking and helping out anyway.

As far as not looking like a scalper, the easiest way to do that is by not getting greedy when they ask how many figures you want (assuming they are willing to search the back). Just ask for one, or one of each figure if checking multiple DCPIs.

Ask politely and have the number ready - I've never been told no.

yeah they might give him to you, they might not.

They seem to have a newish thing going on about "collectible merchandise", which they have TFs classified as, where they are not supposed to bring anything from the back for anything classified as such. My parents were in the US last week and a couple of Targets turned them away after entering the #s and seeing they were classified as such and not supposed to be put out until 8/26. Then one still told them they weren't supposed to let them have them, but brought out G1 Jazz repaint for them anyways. Still couldn't get G1 repaint SS though.

Since most stores have the stock in back, if the toy department managers has some spare time this week, they ight start setting the endcap at most stores this week to get it set early. Possibly, not promising anything.

I saw this last weekend; at least one Target had the endcap space cleared and pegs specifically labelled for "Transformers Movie Deluxe G1 Jazz" or something to that effect. No figures, but the space was there to allow the toys to be put up quickly when the release date comes.

I was going to "do a favor" for our toys team leader and set the endcap lasnight when the figures came in, but my projects last night kept me busy until the store opened. Maybe tonight.

Just bully your way into the back room and take it. Don't pay for it either. Just walk out with it like you own the place. I'd like to see them try and stop you.

Does anyone know the CC Bumblebee Dpci number? Through much searching (and no one answering my question) I found the two, but need his number now.

EDIT: Whoops - looks like I'm too late. And BB won't have a separate DPCI at Target, as he's part of an assortment, so it's the same as the rest of the deluxes... 087-06-0951

Doesn't show up with a date in our system yet. Only "Active Not on Planogram"

EDIT: Oops, I gave you the DPCI for the Bumblebee 2-pack.

Yep, like ams said, regular deluxes don't have a special DPCI.

Thanks alot AMs and DM, appreciate it. Hopefully, I can get one of each tomorrow when I'm in town. I'd normally wait until release, but scalping is beyond extremes here.

The Target in Woburn, Ma already has G1 Starscream and G1 Jazz out. I bought one of each this morning.
