So I am looking to take a year of before I go to college, and I have been looking into doing a volunteer program abroad for 6 months.... I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of organizations to do it through, or destinations to go to I would really appreciate it!! I also want to go somewhere where I can learn a new language while volunteering!! If anyone has any ideas let me know!!

    Thanks!!!!!!

i was a volunteer (locally) for over 10 years, so i doubt i can help someone who's looking for adventure abroad.

but i tell you to carefully consider how you want to save the world.
if you jump in and find yourself at a disadvantage, you may not find it as rewarding as you imagined.
if you know your strengths, and can use them, go for it.

i volunteered as a medic so i went with what i knew best. i taught CPR, First Aid to all age groups (kids to seniors) and tried to take the fear and ick out of what i did.

i may not have reached far across the globe, but the experience was not lessened by it.

might i suggest you start a volunterring lifestyle at home, then expand as you gain confidence?
i know of people that went that route.

whatever you decide, i wish you all the best.
