am I the only one seeing that the Toynami lions look like wolves instead of lions?

Isn't there like fifty million Voltrons out there? To me redoing the exact same damn robot again defies the point.

Though I'm not too super keen on the design, but not simply because it's stylized.

I don't like King of Beasts either. :)

I'm really, genuinely shocked at how difficult it is to make a combining, problem-free, good-looking Voltron given how rock-simple the design is.

Haven't the lions always kinda not looked like lions and more like dogs/wolves? They've never really been proportioned to lions, had manes, the snouts always looked more canine than any kind of large cat.

Hmmm, the Voltron lions have always looked feline to me - even the vintage ones. At the very least they look like mountain lions.

Only the prototype Toynami reminds me if canines. Heck, one if them could even pass of as a cousin of Weird Wolf! X)

The Toynami lions have necks, and that to me is a massive improvement to their looks.

Big cats with necks! Which is what is sorely lacking in all previous versions. Can't ever do a pose like this with previous ones:

I always wanted super posable versions of the lions that doesn't have to become a Voltron part. We got several Voltrons that don't separate, so give the lions a shot Then you could give them necks and body joints.

I actually like the style of these - at least in grey proto form. I'm not as sold on the individual lions - they struck me as a little bedraggled, but the combined mode looks great to me. Kind of makes me want to sell my KOB

IMO its a risk you have to take. Risk in the sense that the 'build quality' is good. Strong and sturdy joints. Me? I got burnt enough by Toynami so I'm going to wait for reviews.

I dig the necks but some of the faces sculpts are off-putting to me. Besides, I will be displaying him in combined form.

Anyway, I got me another KOB set! :)

That new Toynami one looks kind of cool because the lions look like lions, but I need to see them painted first. I want them to be anime colored and not old toy colored with the numbers and crap on them. Of course, it is also going to be majorly expensive.

However, WHAT THE HELL TOYNAMI!!?? Give us some freaking Vehicle Voltron/Dairugger stuff already.

Seem some are disappointed that the new toynami Voltron are stylized, but MP Transformers are too. You can't keep releasing blocky figures just because it is toon accurate. They look cool and 18"??!!! I'm sold.

I like the look of the stylized Voltron too. I'm not going to be searching out any preorders until I've seen more (and a price tag), but I'm interested. I agree that it's silly to keep redoing the same robot again and again, each time trying to get just a tiny bit closer to the anime. I enjoy seeing some new creativity and interpretations of these designs.

Didn't realize just how big this new one will be. Hopefully very stability won't be an issue.

Just saw the youtube from CollectionDX with Voltron and damn, just being 3d printed these are going to be pretty damn impressive. Love the proportions of Voltron and all the lions seem very articulated. I was going to get the KOB but not now, that thing is too skinny with a little girl waist.
