I'm surprised this hasn't come down more. I have seen it consistently at other retailers for that $299.99 price. Its just BBTS that hasn't lowered theirs. I picked my up from ebay a while back brand new for $250 shipped.

Solid piece. I really love these guys in lion mode.

How does it compare to SoC? Looks nice but I only really have the one from Target to compare to.

Nothing compares to the SOC. The EX is probably the second/third best you can get next to the SOC. The Icarus version 2 is great as well. I have the Dark Voltron and he is really nice. The EX has its faults but the paint and sculpt are nice. He also has great shelf presence. Use future or clear nail polish/super glue on the ball joints to tighten them up and it will make a big difference.

Checkout some limited reviews on youtube.

Balljoint hips mainly, limited head and waist articulation. Those qualms don't bother me bc I just pose my figures plus I keep them in lion mode.

But he's a solid figure. Great paint apps and sculpting.

I can't read enough moon runes to discern a date but Action Toys likes to take a very very very long time to release anything.

I totally agree with this. I didn’t watch that much of Vehicle Voltron then but looking at it now, it really carried a huge Star Trek vibe. The US series altered a number of things in several episodes whether thru dialogue or scene cuts in trying to conform to kids programming.
