ok so imagine this....take sinnertwin from POTP, repurpose him and sky lynx (or hun-gurrr but sky lynx would make a better body) into voltron lions and..... transformers voltron! I've had my eye on trying to do this and this may just be possible. take sinnertwin, remove a head, shorten the neck, grind off the horns and change the tail and boom voltron lion! sky lynx is already set up for a lion mode (and maybe could have a humanoid mode with some tweaking) and the chest already looks like the voltron chest in combiner mode. it obviously wouldnt be a perfect match but i think it would be a pretty cool rendition of having a voltron lion that can also transform into a robot (or paladin mech) but still form voltron.
I've personally never understood why we got Voltrex, which we never actually got to see in the show due to the cancellation, but we didn't get a release-version Dracotron.
Here's Voltrex - Not mine, but it's got the same paint application issues - note how on the blue and yellow dinos the chrome paint is coming off revealing the translucent plastic underneath. And this is Dracotron - For reasons never adequately explained, Voltrex was never on the show, but did get a very limited release in stores in the end of 99. If I remember correctly from the box bio, Voltrex WAS Voltron... just another form that Voltron learned to take on after dimensional travel (like how Voltron could become Stealth Voltron). Dracotron WAS on the show, but his toys never got past the prototype stage. He was an evil 5-dragon combiner that fought against Voltron on two or three separate occasions.
Hey that is great news.. I remember you commenting earlier in the thread. Me too on the color version. Site still says end of March. Fingers crossed.
Saw the classic limbs reduced to $13.00 at one W M yesterday but that wasn't the case at a couple others I stopped at.
I saw the same at one in New Hartford, NY, only it was Legendary Defender Lions. $13, $21 for Black Lion, $7 for paladins.
I haven't seen the classic black lion at w m but the ones at tru where reduced so I grabbed one and hustled over to w m to get the limbs. $80 for the set. Not as exciting as finding Fort Max at Ollie's but a good enough deal.
Cool picture, asked my friend to do a quick edit and give him a smile. Credit to original picture author: openchallenge.
I grabbed the nice 18" Combining Legendary Defender Voltron boxed set from the liquidation sale today. I was sad to see that they only had Legendary lions. None of the new Classic ones. I wonder if those were under the court guarantee, and thus Playmates could have them shipped back?
Awesome. I think that happened to the Nintendo figures at my tru. Before the final announcement they had a ton of them and they where completely gone today.
