What bothers me is: After the complaints, as few as there may have been, surfaced for the larger combiner Voltron not having a turning neck: They released this Voltron with that exact same flaw. WTF....did they not see the reviews and feedback on the larger combiner Voltron? Or do they just not care? If I can mod it to make the neck turn (because I had to with the larger set) then I'll try to- but it just irritates me that they don't seem to be progressing and advancing in their engineering from release to release- they've seem to have stalled.
Im so glad i didnt get this metal diecast. Just cos it doesnt have neck articulation. Lucky i moded my original large combiner
Nope, joints all appear to be exact same as larger figure from my skimming the vid, no new articulation.
I didn't really expect them to really change much converting the lions to metal but it's still upsetting lol
Wow, that's some crap that they didn't change anything; hell, there's LESS articulation because the Black Lion's wings are missing the third joint.
I'm assuming they may have planned this prior to the release of the larger one. Also, I have plenty of complaints about the larger one. The wrists are entirely too long. I hate the rubber feet on the lions. No ankle articulation. No head articulation. The positioning of the shoulders The arm lions should've been a bit smaller (like almost every other Voltron) The connections aren't the best, especially for the arms. The missing paint that was shown on the initial official photos is bothersome.. playmates REALLY needs to knock that shit off. The feet look odd because of the backs of the leg lions. I wish the elbow articulation was better. I think most of those problems could've been remedied fairly easily. Yes, it would probably cost more.. but I'd be willing to shell out for it. It's not a bad figure.. I just love the design of this iteration and wish we had a better representation of it.
I'd be satisfied if they tweaked the arms and shoulders more. I still think they could have easily fixed the Black Lion's shoulders so that they aren't completely huge just to store in the arms and that the arm lions could've been smaller or at least proportioned better compared to the others.
Its basicaly a kids toy company. At the moment im ok with what i got. Going to have to wait for other companies like bandai to fix the mistakes playmate stuffed up. Please let their be bandai or someone to have a go doing the right thing even third party companies can offer better toy then this. Sadly these toys are marketing for younger kids not for adult collectors. If for adults go for soul chogokin and i'll say you will never look at any voltron as good as this.
I think it's more of the fact that that I believe playmates is capable of doing better... But that's def not the same as caring to do better
I really like the new lions. I had suspected that the Metal Defender Lions were designed in parallel with the Legendary Lions, so I expected them to have similar proportions, articulation, and transformations.
I saw a Pixel Dan video that they are shipping to stores in about a week, should be around everywhere in August... But I'm not sure of the wave assortments and which ones we are getting first... I think I'm excited for the Pilots and bag guy figures (Zarkon, Lothor, Haggar) the most. They are also making larger Cats that the pilots can fit inside, which the Cats actually look really nice, but it doesn't combine, which is a bummer.
Agreed and I iterated that months back and got flack. Now look. Typical playmates with a decent attempt but phoned in executions
