Mind you I have no emotional attachment to Voltron since it didn't air in Scandinavia.

But I read the spoiler-free script review over at Latino Review and... well... I liked what I heard. It would be a groovy movie if it whas made.

I liked how they sort of spliced the plot of GoLion (the Japanese show cut-and-pasted about to make Voltron) with the 80's versions tropes and sucessfully became faithfull to both.

The apocalyptic mood of GoLion with the Saturday Morning Cartoon heroes of Voltron.

I kind of had to draw this. But I couldn't really get myself to color it... But since its only a design speculation I don't think anyone minds.

The nebula background is a stock photo and the blazing sword is one of the coolest swords ever.... Wich i think I made slightly more orgasmic.

That...is...fantabulous! Voltron is the sexy with the TF Movie aesthetics that you managed to capture so well.

The Blazing Sword was a very awesome sword to begin with, and you somehow managed to make it look awesome-er!

While your drawing is awesome, I seriously doubt the movie version will look as cool.

    Minor Spoiler comments!!!!
I like the idea of a Voltron movie that's not corny, but I really don't like the junk-former lions. Seriously, these lions are gonna look crappy (and possibly corny/goofy) if they are built out of junk (which road spikes for teeth sounds like junk to me). If they had built them in secret, then why couldn't they have used better parts like military stuff. And what's even worse in my opinion is that road spikes and other junk weapons can beat a monster that (as we are made to believe based on the script) top of the line military armaments couldn't beat. To me, it's like shooting a monster with a nuclear bomb, seeing that the bomb does nothing, then having a little kid smack it with a stick and the thing dies from the stick attack. I know people were complaining over the Junk-former TF movie designs, I can only imagine how bad this will be since they are actually made of junk. I seriously hope this gets revised.

From what I understood, they're just using road parts to create shells/bodies for the keys to inhabit. So when a key is inserted, it sends out an energy wave that strengthens the lion and makes it near impervious to damage, not to mention a whole lot more powerful.

Okay. But if they are using road parts, then the shell will still look like it's made of junk. Like that reviewer said, the blue lion (assuming it's the blue one since she took the blue key) had a C-130 tail with traffic spikes for teeth. I looked at an image of that aircraft and I'm really thinking that these will look like junk-formers/junk-lions. Heck, the robots are activated from keys that traversed the universe, so why not just have the keys completely alter the look of the robots to make them not look like they were built from scrap?

Good point. But then again, that was just a look the script writer settled on. Who knows if they'll actually look like that?
