I believe they were. But similar styles doesn't guarantee a lot of shared design elements. Anyway, if I was only looking at the designs, I'd have to say that Dairugger was a great choice to go with Golion--although technically it was the reverse. They had Dairugger already and got Golion by accident. From another point of view, Legendary Defender is actually much slower. We're 24 episodes into the new series and we've only now reached its version of the events that would correspond to episode 6 of Golion, and teasing a character introduction that would've been in episode 14.
Just finished season two and boy was it great! But for people who think season three will focus on finding Shiro - I doubt it. Remember the big cliffhanger of season one involved all of the lions being separated in space. And everyone thought season two would focus on finding them again. Instead they solved that mystery in like two episodes and then went back to the Zarkon storyline for the rest of the season
Classic episodes... with new content?? Are they just recutting it to be less censored? Actually animating new scenes? Or is it gonna be like the "Transformers: Generation 2" cartoon and the Disney rebroadcast of Power Rangers?
I read an unconfirmed report that they'll just be bookending the episodes with interviews with the Legendary Defender staff, regarding their thoughts on the episode.
