That's a Shame they never reached it. Though it's Amusing Lion is Brought up since I watched all of the Original Go Lion last summer.
I had two of the Gladiator Voltron robots as a kid. Always wanted the third so my brother and I could combine them but it was not to be.
I was thinking sister. Man it really seemed like it was over I had forgot the prince hadn't been shown yet.
It wasn't that they never reached the point of dubbing Albegas, it was more that they scrapped it because Vehicle Voltron wasn't as popular as Lion Voltron. People preferred the Lions.
Yeah, instead of moving on to Gladiator Voltron, they actually commissioned more episodes of Lion Voltron. There's basically an entire season of Lion Voltron episodes that were never in GoLion. I dunno if they need to reduce the number of pilots. They just need to focus more on the three team leaders and one or two other pilots and relegate everyone else to background characters. Like most of the pilots in Star Wars.
I wouldn't mind if Vehicle Voltron was more radically redesigned, perhaps with less actual vehicles in it.
There's really only three core things vehicle Voltron has to have. Helicopter shoulders, the face, and the red jet on the chest.
You could even streamline the two choppers and chest jet into an osprey-like vehicle that makes all or most of the upper body.
The moment you start flooding the place with multiple Voltrons, it kills the special-ness of Lion Voltron. Plus, I'm sorry, but those other Voltrons don't exactly scream of an iconic look. To me they look like any old generic combining Japanese robot. There's something kind of mythical and magical about having the robots be lions. Plus in the grand scheme of things, we've only had 26 episodes so far. Even if they did decide to add more Voltrons to the show, I wouldn't want it to happen for a good long time.
What, no giant rollerskate vans? I think Dairugger makes a better Voltron than Albegas, design-wise. He's got a red V shape on his chest (which the new Voltron strangely lacks). He's got virtually the same face. He's got a helmet with horns and white cheek guards. What he really needs to complete the look are some big red wings. I wonder how many remember that episode 8 was the first vehicle episode of Defender of the Universe. Just 8 episodes in.
He doesn't lack the V on the chest. It's clearly there in blue. Gladiator Voltron is the only one lacking the V shape.
Here's the link. The only inaccuracy is that Studio MIR was hired to do four shows. It was only just one, but the order is still 78 episodes. Other Dreamworks/Netflix shows like All Hail King Julien and Mr. Peabody and Sherman were also picked up for that amount.
Well, in season 2 the V flashes gold and red when the Paladins reawaken Voltron. Plus I believe the idea is that the blue V (and all the little blue lights) is Voltron's quintessence or however it's spelled. So the V represents Voltron in more ways than one.
