Still no earthbound, still no star fox, still no yoshi's island....

granted, the last two rely on the Super FX and Super FX2 chips that were in the carts, but I would LIKE to believe nintendo designed the SNES functionality of the Wii to use those.

nintendo is the king of missed opportunities.

There's apparently legal reasons for the lack of Earthbound. It relates back to the music by the Runaway 5. Or something.

    Yeah, I'm aware of that.

But Nintendo is in the clear as far as that goes. no laws were broken, the music is different enough that they're safe. (see Under Pressure and Ice Ice Baby for an example of this, or hell, all the "sampling" that goes on in rap and hip hop)

Nintendo's lawyers are just being paranoid, and don't want to risk potential lawsuits, even if they'd be dismissed by a court.

anyone that came after Nintendo over the music in Earthbound would have no case at all. Nintendo can legally release Earthbound whenever and however they want.

japanese companies are like that. Remember how someone found some russian song that sounds a lot like the Metal Gear Solid theme? it's different enough that Konami could have legally used the theme in MGS4, but they admitted that they didnt because they were being overly cautious.

Still no Rock N' Roll Racing, UN Squadron or Battletoads = Nintendo still fails.

blame the companies that made those games. nintendo can't put up games they didnt make.

Wouldnt Rare retain ownership of that, like they did with Banjo Kazooie?

As far as Majora's Mask goes, the game was awesome. Very underrated (as much as a Zelda game can be underrated...). I kinda wish more Zelda games would break the mold a little bit.

But I still have the cart, so whatever.

Still no Super Smash Bros. It's out in Japan, but not in the U.S. WTF LAME.
