    So, I'm now officially an Apple whore because I picked up a new Video iPod despite my old one being perfectly functional.

    I used magic and chicanery to transfer all my music accross from my old one, bought some videos from the iTunes store... but I want more videos. But I don't wanna be paying for them, I want to stick 'em on there myself.

    So I guess the question is, how can I get my enourmous DVD's on to my tiny iPod. The little slot at the bottom is too small ;_;

    HAwT!

    I have shunned Bitorrents because they fuck up my games while running and I don't leave my computer on and unattended.

    Ok, so here is my question? Is the screen large enough to read subtitles on?

    Because if so I want a video ipod to watch my TVnihon downloads. If not, I'll just bring my laptop with me.

    I am a mobility whore.

    Geez, I thought I was the only one at this point. I'm so happy :drunk

    Anyway, I'm tempted to join the iPod bandwagon, but a) I can't really afford it and b) Despite my willing affection for insanely mainstream musical acts as you see in my avatar and signature I for some reason slightly fear it'd be "going with the flow" a bit too much to engage myself in such a CULTURAL PHENOMENON and play like all the other kids are playing. :(  Halp me.

    You're only buying in to it if you're buying in to it. If you want the most elegant and usable MP3/Video player around, then there really isn't another choice.

    Whats Apple?

    Hohoho.

    Out of interest, whats the size of the memory (I'll assume its a harddrive) and when DVD movies are converted how big are they? I was curious when I saw a Video ipod on a flight.

    The new ones come in 2 sizes, 30GB and 80GB.

    I don't know what size the movies will come it at though. I guess it'll all depend on what setting you choose.

    4 GB is nicely watchable. You can make them MUCH smaller though.

    Should have waited for the Zune.

    But anyway, you can convert video to iPod the same way you convert video to PSP. Rip the movie using something like DVD Decrypter/DVDShrink then use PSPVideo9 to convert to the iPod. Ive seen a nice quality movie at about 800MB.

    However, I dont think Decrypter or Shrink are available anymore, but just do a google search and try to find it or something similiar.
