CdnShockwave covered Canada's version--we actually don't do the poppies on this day, but rather reserve them for our Memorial Day--but I wanted to toss out a thanks to all my fellow servicemen and women here.

I'll miss more'n a few, but I know I remember: GogDog, Primus, Moonscream, OmegaScourge, Primus, GrimlockAGoGo, that one Australian badass whose name I forget, actionfigure73, Optimus Scourge, and I'm sure many others.

    Big ups, battles.

Here's to those who served their country in protecting their homeland.

In all honesty, I'm kinda glad I don't have to join the army. I have flat feet. :p

Yeah thanks to all you guys on here, my grandfathers (whose dog tags I am wearing today in memoriam - WWII), my brother in law Brian, and my buddies Josh, Rio, and Mr. Garcia. I have immense respect for the military and what our soldiers have done for us. That is truly honor, love, and respect.

Being a Navy Veteran myself, I also say thank you to those who serve and those who have served. We were going to go to the Veteran's Day parade downtown today but icy rain on 5yo kids does not a pleasant morning make.

Dude, you are going all old school and stuff. That is a cool poem, Kipling is right up there with Hemmingway IMO.

I myself... couldn't/didn't have to end up drafted in the conscript system either in the Army neither the civilian service 'cos of mild asperger's. (Its Conscript system in Finland) While I'm not gonna be particularily proud of that, but I do know that entire generations have made major sacrifices to ensure the way of life we live now, and its not granted.

Also, I told what I did so you wouldn't be feelin' alone, Eric.

Feels awkward to just 'thank' a fellow vet.

I rather say 'Thank you for watching the backs of all my kith and kin, even when they were ungrateful, because without my grandfathers who both served in WWII, I and all the generations after wouldn't be here to carry on.'

I wanted to go to the Legion today, but they're not open, and the only Veterans Day event that was local to me was apparently yesterday morning. :(

I am currently serving in the Army (in good ol' Texas!). Any thanks we get means a lot to us. The support means a lot, so please send me money. Or maybe some food. Some video games would be nice too. :)

Seriously, thanks and god bless America.
