Verizon Finally Lands the iPhone - WSJ.com
yeap it's been coming for a while, they released an Ipad a little while ago, so that pretty well seemed like the phone was next. I am still going with the HTC thunderbolt when I get the cash from my collection though
Awesome news! I've been putting off getting iPhone just so I don't have to go with AT&T.
I'm one of the millions who owns an iPhone already. I'm still locked into the 2 year contract from the iPhone 4 .
Then again, I've never had a single issue with AT&T.
damn no T-Mobile lol
guess i'll be one of those that are waiting for T-Mo to start using the mini-sim cards so i can get me a iPhone 4.
CDMA just needs to go away. Sprint/Boost, Verizon and Cricket are the only 3 companies in the world that still use it. Every other country in the world uses GSM exclusivly, why can't we?
If the don't fix the verizon network to where you can internet search and talk at the same time this is a big waste. still glad to hear it finally happened so all the years of rumors of it happening are finally over.
buy a lg optimus 2x, much better than the iphone.
Awesome. Been waiting a long time for this.
Verizon's network can't support the iPhone the way it should be supported. This will be interesting when it's released.
and what way is that?
Verizon will do fine to support it. Im a Droid fan and hate the iphone but i dont see any problems with it supporting it. Apple would not release it to verizon if they didnt have the software and stuff to run it. That would just hurt apple in the long run. Anyway im happy with my Droid 2.
Sweet. Know exactly what I'm asking for for Christmas next year then.
It's not with the network now. It would be from the sudden influx of the iPhones on the network. AT&T had to upgrade their networks when the iPhone came out because of how much traffic it was getting. Verizon, while having a bigger network distance-wise, is slower by some degree to AT&T.
And even if this was 4G it wouldn't make a difference, as no network has a true 4G network that meets the speed and other specifications needed to be qualified as a 4G network.
i read AT&T will lose customers when the iphone is launched
Me too. AT&T sucks.
I won't switch to Verizon for a phone, but I'd seriously consider getting an iPhone if they were available on every carrier. I like my Sprint service in this area and the cheaper price too much to go to Vzn. Plus, I can upgrade every 12 months on Sprint instead of Vzn's impending "new every 20 months" contract.
