I knew they couldn't resist that one, too. But more Bowie! Hell, more musicians in general! Brian Eno cameo and "the Warm Jets", and we saw a Diamond Dog! Put me down as well for loving Phantom Limb's "team". That was even more insane than I'm used to from this show. I also liked the homage of the guild member Red Mantle. Obviously a Felix Faust expy. Anyone peg to who Dragoon was, if anyone? - Coeloptera
This episode was a great one. I was a little sad seeing Phantom Limb reduced to an insane madman though. It's kind of hard to see him as the same character in some ways. Still it was great seeing him doing something. I thought he would be some major threat at some point again but it looks that won't happen, or will it? He was great in this episode at any rate. All the Guild members were great as usual and Billy was hilarious. "I want back in my bag." Just awesome. The Councilmen were great too but I was beginning to think that they would be revealed to be the old Team Venture at some point (based on that old photo from the episode where Jonis opened the museum on Spider-Skull Island which I think had 13 members). Watch and the other guild operative, I forget his name, and their interaction with Hank and Hatred made me laugh a little. When Hatred said they had the wrong compound and one of them asked if anyone had the directions printed out, apparently missing Venture in big letters on the front of the building and the fact they were there before just a few years earlier, made me laugh a little. I was a little disappointed with the future Dr. Venture scene though as I thought when I saw it in the trailer it was going to be something hilarious. The truth of that scene didn't live up to my own speculation although that is my fault. Overall this was a great episode that revealed a lot about some past plot points. I hope they keep up the good work. This season could be better than the last, which was the best so far.
That would be "Ward". There was also a reference in that quick scene of "Future Rusty". Look at his glasses. One round lens, one rectangle. The colours? Red and green. Reference to Spider Jerusalem's notable eyewear in Warren Ellis's Transmetropolitan. - Coeloptera
Yep, totally awesome episode. Best in a long time. I believe that wraps up the first half of season 4, right? Should be back in 6 months or so?
Correct, we are only half-way through season 4 at this point. The second half should be on around early summer-ish.
I loved this episode. An added bonus, it sated my questions enough for now that waiting won't be too hard a chore. Unlike, say White Collar, which blew a major reveal in the last seconds and we have to wait till mid frikken january to find out what the hell is going on. *nerd rage*
Sunday's episode was great. Hearing 24 again was nice. I can't wait for the last few episodes of the season. Too bad it will be awhile.
Loved the episode this week. Going to hate waiting for more. Easily one of the best shows on television, animated or not.
