Unrelated much the same way Halle Berry's Catwoman was to Batman? I predict it will fare just as well... if it sees release.
Fair enough, I just finally want a Venom movie to be made. It sucks that its not connected to the MCU, but maybe that means it'll be allowed to be darker in tone. I've been waiting for a solo Venom movie since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3!
for me i dont mind if its not connected to the MCU, sure it would be cool if it was, but i will still be looking foward to seeing my favorite Spider-Man villian getting his own movie.
I can get why they decide to not have Venom be connected to the MCU at least for now because it would have to take a lot of stories and movies to have a Venom movie take place after a Spiderman story where he was first introduced. Also it doesn't actually have to be Eddie Brock since Venom also took a lot of other hosts in the comics.
But surely the fact Spider-Man could potentially end up in space in infinity gauntlet and somehow come across the symboite... You know what, I'm not even going to bother. This is such a dumb move.
I was hoping they would eventually use it in the MCU. It would have been amazing to see it done right in the Spider-Man movies. Have Eddie Brock introduced in the first Spider-Man. Then have Eddie Brock Venom be the only villain in the second or third movie. Then have the symbiote move to Flash Thompson eventually and join the GOTG. It could be a weird little redemption arc for the symbiote. It honestly doesn't make much sense at all, without being tied to an existing Spider-Man. It's stupid for them to even try.
I really don't see Venom as a heroic character, unless they bring in Carnage, a character more villainous and messed-up than he is, to the point that this would be an R-rated film. I think that'd be a good direction actually.
well true venom is not the most heroic character, but Eddie Brock does at times care for the well being of innocent people that havent done anything to him (he may make an expection if said civilian is a friend of Spidey), which is one of the reasons he teamed up with spidey in Maximun Carnage, because Carnage was killing innocent people
Sony, we need to talk. Time to stop. Go ruin a different franchise. You're slipping - it shows in stuff like Ghostbusters, which doesn't look good, but is not down to the low standards you have set for yourself.
So in other words a MCU Venom or Carnage will most likely never happen, as well as most villians Sony has the rights to. Amazing, it that it sucks ass.
