I've been noticing in the trailers there's been the same purple/black car with a white head and right hand turns into a gun, these sound a lot like vehicons to me, your thoughts?

So did Hasbro lose the rights for Vehicons? I fail to see the point if they did not, if they have the name they should use it. This would of been the perfect time to bring it back.

I think it has more to do with there not being much of a distinction between Decepticons and Vehicons. Though they could just use the name for a specific character like they have done with Insecticon.

Why name 'em Vehicons when they're nothing like the Vehicons?

They're evil, they have vehicle alt-modes, and they're cannon fodder. The real question is how are they not like the Vehicons?

Vehicons were mindless drones with different body types and corresponding generals, in fact the name Vehicon is their name of their whole faction, while Eradicons in the comic and fuction-wise are more like Stormtroopers than anything and are all still Decepticons.

If anything that has little personaltiy and has the same body-type is a vehicon then might as well call Reflector clone vehicons.

We're well aware it's the name of the faction, and your description of Eradicons is identical to Vehicons.

Stormtroopers, Vehicons, Eradicons = Cannon Fodder

HHmm not really, sounds more like you're just letting the wish of a pointless name homage get in the way of the purpose.

What? I couldn't care less what they're called. The point is there is no distinctive difference between them beyond their appearances.

    Vechicons r srs bsns. :popcorn

Seriously, in the end with all the negative feedback and such that came out of Beast Machines, they more than likely want to avoid as many references to that as they can, as well as the BM >.> drones are main universe, this is not.

Don't forget, none of them can hit the broad side of a barn either, unless its a key scene then they are all Bullseye

Not much to go on about the Eradicons so far.

Perhaps the influence is from outside of Transformers but from the Battlestar Galactica reboot. The Cyclon Centurions didn't say much, did all the grunt work for the skin job leaders, but there was always stuff in the show pointing to they had their own personality instead of just being mindless drones.
