After sacrificing himself turning back time, Vector Prime awakens to find he is reborn in a new beast body. He soon discovers that he is stranded on the Jungle planet in the distant past.

    This is my Vector Primal.

Vector Primal is made using The Last Knight Steelbane. The main reason that I used Steelbane is pretty obvious: the robot mode looks so much like Vector Prime that it makes you wonder if Hasbro was planning to repaint him as Vector Prime someday.

Modifications were minor (though disassembling him is a major pain). The base for his robot head is molded from Classics deluxe Megatron. The new face is molded from Prime: Beast Hunters Optimus Prime. The forehead vent is molded from Cybertron Downshift. The dragon head and lower jaw were molded from Prime: Beast Hunters Skystalker. Some additional sculpting was required. I used an I-DO-3D gel pen to create the red gem for his chest.

All sculpted and molded parts were made using epoxy putty. Paints used were a combination of Testors enamels and Krylon Short Cuts spray enamels. Colors used were Krylon flat white, and Testors gold, silver, a custom dark red, a custom light metallic blue and flat red. I used Krylon Matte Finish Gloss to protect the paint and flatten the colors.

I did have questions but I read the description and they were all basically answered. I love the Dragon headsculpt especially. The shape really gives it it's own character and silhouette almost.

I do have a Skylinx I don't really care for...was there any resculpting or pinning you needed to do for the dragon head?

This is a horrible custom that should not exist. Why? Because it's too nice... And I want it to be mass released! Hehe.

Thanks everyone for the praise. I was surprised how well it actually worked.

I didn't use the actual dragon head from Skystalker. I removed the pin and made a mold from the head (without the horns) and the jaw. Then made an epoxy putty copy. I like epoxy putty because it is easily cut and sanded. I then removed the beak from the upper half of the dragon head and glued the copy on top. It still allowed me to have the folding horns from Steelbane's original head. All that being said, if you remove the pin from the dragon head of your Skylinx, it should fit the same way that my copy did (once you remove Steelbane's beak).

The lower jaw was alot more work. I had to cut the molded copy in half and glue it to the bottom beak, then use more putty to fill in the gaps and sculpt.

While I hate how you tortured me with that first sentence, I agree with the overall statement. As I stated in the original post, he looks so much like Vector Prime in robot mode that it makes me believe there may be plans for a mass release or exclusive repaint.

Hehehe... Sorry. Just wanted to make a different statement than immediate praise... or at least seemingly so. But seriously though, it's a missed opportunity by Hasbro, and I'm sure if the ex-FunPub folks still lurk here... they'd probably be like "why can't we make this!?" But yea... anyway... Make more stuff like this.
