Some TF2 tidbits and insight into the first film's effects. Also mention of a "geriatric robot". New character?

"Geriatric robot", eh? Does that mean we will be getting a G1 Kup type character or is he going even older to like a Alpha Trion type old robot?

Personally I wouldn't mind either type of character in the next movie.

 

Definetly sounds interesting. Ironhide was supposed to be the "old-timer" in the first film, but that didn't really come out in the movie (he came off as more of a cowboy type). This could unfortunetly be one of Bay's miss-information thingy's, but I'm hoping it's something that's actually true about the sequel, as an old bot would be, imo, cool to see in the sequel.

 

Yeah, those are the two that came to mind when I read that. Either one would be pretty interesting. I'd bet A3 would be Cybertronian in vehicle mode, somewhat like Megatron.

 

old robots = lulz

 

It sounds like there are going to be lots of 'background' robots. Possibly even civilian Cybertronians. I think we will see all sorts of cameo bots from the mention "old" bot to other things that will reflect characters we know or aspects of them.

But everything should be taken with a grain of salt, remember, Bay is at war with the TF community and planning misdirection to keep us guessing.

 

To be fair, Bay said he would "leak" false info. That tells me that if Bay says something openly, it's not really a leak, so it must be legit. If we get some random movie designs or script stuff just popping up online and we don't know where it comes from, it could very well be Bay misdirecting us - I think that's what he meant.

If we know it's from Bay, it's legit. If we don't know where it's from, be skeptical because it could be Bay just screwing with us.

 

Fair enough... That is a good point. Nothing in here sounds like misdirection, but there does seem to be a bunch of comments being made which could be legit or misdirection.

His probably making fun of us right now. If he is, Bay I hope you give megatron a better design this time.

 

Interesting. Not too sure about this geriatric character. An old timer is alright but I'd rather not the wise old man or a bot in depends

 

Hopefully, because listening to the DVD commentary it seems he didn't really like Megatron that much, either, and said the fans were right to complain about his original face.

 

I hope geriatric-bot doesn't have facial hair. It wouldn't look good in live action.

Kup or Alpha Trion? either one is fine by me anway.

 

If he stumbled up Spotlight Kup while researching ideas for the film then I'd guess it's a hint about Kup. Ironhide came off as just a little too hot headed and trigger happy to be an older bot who's seen it all. Plus some fans have already said how cool it would be if Kup's Earth mode was a rusty old Chevy pickup truck.

Spot on about lighting making something look like it was there in the shot rather than added later. Just really hope the next film has less night shots since those were a little too dark. Would have also been nice if he promised to scale back on the shaky and gritty cams.

 

haha. I missread 'geriatric robot' as 'generic robot' at first, so I thought they were gonna be giving us drones.

 

I'm liking the mis-information tactic.
I felt like I knew the whole first movie before it came out.
And hell, I didn't even read the leaked script.
I'm looking forward to being somewhat surprised. (that's the same reason why i'm avoiding anything Iron Man related)

 

It doesn't look good in cartoon either... It's just plain daft.
