In ROTF Transformers exhaled vapor from his mouth when speaking (for example, Ironhide in Shanghai or Starscream and Megatron on the Nemesis). In my opinion it was very cool! Has anyone noticed anything like that in DOTM?
I also watched only three times, and therefore I ask. They look so alive, warm when exhaled vapor. Of course, the DOTM was only one such scene - at Chernobyl... Well... I so... inattentively watch this scene... that might not even notice it.
If I can remember Starscream exhales vapor in Washington. Though I might be wrong. There isn't many chances to do so when it isn't very cold in June.
I haven't noticed any shots of visible breath from the robots, but I'd think Ratchet and Optimus on the moon would be a good place to look.
Could be a way of expelling heat, or maybe their speaker systems work off an air compressor (which would be pretty weird) like ours. I don't think they breathe, or else the underwater and space scenes wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.
Ironhide's breath is visable because it's cold and raining during that scene. For Megatron and Starscream I guess it's because of the cold of space? It's hard to tell with Optimus and Ratchet getting Sentinel because there's all dust blowing around. Transformers expel air when talking if they have mouths. But don't actually need to breathe. Although often they sound winded like they are breathing, and notably inhale or exhale.
Yeah, that's the only possible scene where they might have visible vapor, but they don't. I actually wish they did have visible breath in that scene. Would've added a cool little visual. Agreed. Another one of those "implied" organic functions to resemble breathing. It's not actually breathing, but simply expelling heat/exhaust, like vehicles.
It's probably just hot air being expelled from their mouths because having all that energon in them probably makes their body temperature very hot. It's just water condensing in the air like a human's breath does on a cold day.
No, there is no atmosphere on the moon It's strange how they speak there... Maybe they're just in case keep radio contact with each other...
Yes, I did not mean breathing in a human sense, just do not know how to say it in English... Most likely the system by which they speak is similar to the human vocal cords, they simply blows air through them, and how to write the guys from ILM (I read an interview from some magazine), to simulate the exact lip movements and facial expressions (there was talked about Jetfire), they "put" in their mouth teeth and something like a tongue. That is, principle is the same as in humans. Of course, any gas fits for this, not only the air. In addition, respirable air can serve for cooling, can be explained by the sounds of inhalation and exhalation. But at the same time, they certainly do not depend on the composition of the outer atmosphere, as we do.
Actually, I'm thinking that is a detail the filmmakers got right... there shouldn't be any vapors on the moon, due to lack of oxygen or atmosphere... right?
Yeah, the moon has little to no atmosphere due to the fact it's size. It's gravity can't hold an atmosphere. Yay science So yeah, it's logical that you can't see their breath on the moon.
Bahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha You do realize this is the forum where people talk about giant robots that exhale vapors and fart?
