On their latest CD, they do a cover of the song "Wishmaster" by Nightwish. Do a youtube search on it, I think it is fantastic! (I'd link it for you, but I am at work, and the tube is blocked)

Also, the topic post is a little misleading, cause before you click the links to their music, you think they would sing in German, which they don't (at least not on their albums) it's all english.

that's both cool and the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. So they've got the mikes being distorted to fake the guitars and the guy with the filed down teeth sings the solo.

    *sigh*

I'll stick with playing guitar, it's been good to me.

I did think it was funny they pronounced Battery so that it sounded like Atari. Funny that.

Their fifth album, "Dawn of the Brave", just came out.

Covers are "The Final Countdown" (Europe), "Holding out for a Hero" (Bonnie Tyler), "Into the West" (Annie Lennox) and "Paranoid" (Black Sabbath).

Of their original songs on the album, I really like "Steel Breaker". Reminds me a bit of "The Hitman" by Queen.

Their previous album contained a cover version of Sabaton's "Primo Victoria", with a guest verse by Sabaton's singer Joakim Brodén. Think about it: A German band sings a song abut D-Day... from the Allies' perspective.

Their vocal skills are amazing, Wishmaster is exceptionally good, but I simply cannot get used to the way they sing guitar riffs, ring a ding ding dingy and rong a dong dong.

They're both awesome and LOL-worthy at the same time. I am confused, as I don't know if I like them or not. And I've felt this way about Van Canto for years.

I am super excited for this new album. It's another week or two until it hits Canada, but I've had my pre-order in since the day they went up!

VAN CANTO - Badaboom (Official) | Napalm Records - YouTube

Official video to the first single, "Badaboom", featuring a guest appearance by famous German Comedian Bernhard Hoëcker, who has gone on record multiple times as being a metalhead himself. He previous appeared in an Edguy video, too, and performed together with Van Canto during a TV appearance a few years back.

The bits with "Metallica", "Black Sabbath" and "Sabaton" are hilarious. Inga as Ozzy (with Ross doing the vocals for the "Paranoid" cover). :lol

VAN CANTO - Into The West (Official Video) | Napalm Records - YouTube

Second single of the album: "Into The West" (Annie Lennox cover, from the "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" soundtrack).

Man, is this a boring video. Inga being illuminated by a floodlight, superimposed over footage of various landscapes. This is easily their most boring video to date.

Another highlight of the album: "The Other Ones", a ballad featuring a choir of Van Cantians.
