    So cool.

Also, there was a video released at E3, where portals play a similar role. At one point, you're able to look through a portal and shoot yourself in the head, and in another, you observe a fishbowl, and then walk into a portal that leads INSIDE the fishbowl. Does anyone know the game I'm talking about..? I'd love to watch the gameplay trailer for that again.

EDIT: Nevermind, that trailer I was asking about was Prey, which uses portals in a different way.

Wow. that looks really cool. I saw a screen of that earlier and was wondering what it was. Seems like multiplayer matches could get really crazy with that :p

You know what would be great in multiplayer?

If you could cast a portal onto your teammate's (or enemy's) abdomen, using it to shoot people that walk into your line of sight. Or, even, jump THROUGH your teammate's abdomen portal to provide some backup!

I was thinking of seting a trap by casting a portal over a hazard, like that fire pit, then shoot another portal at the ground in front of the enemy. Result: enemy falls into the pit!

Oh man, Im really wanting this now.

This is free with Episode 2 of Half-Life 2, right?

    Along with Team Fortress 2.

So is Portal a stand-alone title of playing around, or is the Portal gun going to be incorpated into HL2E2 and this is just promotional fluff or what? I don't get that. Whatever it is though, it looks crazy fun. I hope there's some kind of MP play or its a part of Episode 2 story or something.

It's a stand alone game, you just get it when you buy Episode 2.

^Almost anything can be bought seperately through steam. You can buy DOD Source or you can get it for free with certain HL pakages. So I wouldn't be surprised if Portal becomes a stand alone product you can buy from steam.
