Fort Max or Grand Max? Either way, it really depends on the condition. But if it's AFA-gradeable and it gets or would get at least a 75, it's probably sell for somewhere between $2500 and $5000 on Ebay. MISB base bots tend to go for about $2500 if they're in excellent condition, but MISB Fort Maxes are exceptionally sought-after, so that ups the price.

Buy Brave Maximus and save a LOT of cash, you can get one in the $200-$275 area all the time. I bought mine for $200 MIB several months back.

Some people might think I'm crazy but I happen to like the color scheme better on Brave Maximus than on Fort or Grand.

Go for it. Just make sure that it's not double-taped, otherwise they won't grade it and you'll lose the grading fee too.

Its not double taped.. there is a gripload of single tapes on the top and bottom of the box... but none are double taped at all.

If it is a Grand Max and not Fort Max, well, you will start an all out biiding war where the price will no doubt command a very high premium.

To get grading info go to www.toygrader.com and sign up. the FAQ's and charts should help you. I did it with a Mirage of mine.

    oh, and pics please :)

What about the value of a Grand Max that's MIB complete, unused (never removed from styrofoam), stickers unapplied?

the sky is the limit on this guy. I would say 5k+, but how is the condition? if its in prestine condition, you may not have to AFA it. AFAing a max is expensive in its own right.

I wouldn't pay more than $1200. Anything beyond that is re-sellers speculation.

I think it's a shame to AFA a beautifull transformer like Grand Max.

No one will free him, and he will stand there in his Aquarium with a sticker on it saying a number that the last person feeling the box has put on......

I say: Liberate him!!! Grand Max isn't made for a Aquarium. He's made to be free!

well, ever since I bought it a few years back, it has been bubble wrapped and has sat in my dark closet. its in really good condition. the box isnt faded or anything. its a little dirty from the dust but other than that its really nice. Ive looked at the AFA site but I dont understand how to fill out part of the form. I want to AFA it so I can display it and protect it. I was just curious to the value since I can honestly say Im not even really sure what its worth.

If you have specific questions about some step in the process, post them in this thread and we can help you out.

I think you should probably AFA it rather than just letting it sit in bubble-wrap. I've heard a horror story of a MISB Fort Max being held the wrong way, the styro and toy slipping out the bottom, and it suddenly becoming a MIB Fort Max. Plus, the case will (arguably) keep it from getting dents or additional wear. As Malach said, this will be expensive, probably $300-ish. But IMHO it's worth it.

May as well take him out, fill the box with bricks, and display that. He's in a box that has no window, right? Nobody will ever know.

The bottom of the box is well supported, so there isnt a chance of it falling out. But hey, never say never, right?
Hahahahaha... so true about the bricks...

    Thanks Might Gaine, will do!

I stick with MG on this and a few others, AFA it.

youll only regret it later if you open it or somethign happens to it. It might help you later in life if you ever need money for something important.

(if TF at that time still holds value)
