The miniseries was. Back when it first aired it had some geniunely "holy SHIT!!" moments. I remember them because that's when I first watched it. The TV series that followed, however, was absolute crap.
For some reason I own the min-series, and the "holy SHIT" moment was when she ate the rat. That looked trippy. I mean, I kinda liked the whole rise of the Nazis analogy they were doing, I just felt it could've been done better.
It did seem as if they were using Nazis as their basis for the Visitors to the point where it annoyed me at times because of a lack of originality. I remember seeing an article about this long ago. I believe the pilot episode's script was written a year ago called "Found."
So ABC thinks they can capture the magic that is Battlestar in a different series? I will definitely watch, but I'm not holding my breath for any semblance of brilliance. (4400 was good, though, so hopefully they will make this work well.)
Miniseries=good. Series=lame. please don't butcher this like ABC has done with other classics *The Night Stalker, Dragnet anyone?*
ive seen your pics. you werent even there. thats like a kid seeing ESB for the 1st time in the 90s and going: hes just a muppet! i think this has better promise at a remake, more than, say, BSG. i liked the vehicles design btw. especially that minivan looking shuttle where the hatchback goes PEW PEW PEW also, marc singer was FTW
Funny, a lot of people thought that Yoda was just a stupid muppet/crappy comedy relief before ESB first hit...
What? My favourite show is Doctor Who. Y'know? Started in 1963? I can look past effects that haven't aged well. I just didn't like it that much. It had some good ideas, but I feel the script could have been better, and it was fairly predictable. Like I said, some moments caught me off-guard (especially the rat eating), but it didn't do it for me. Maybe the new series will be good, but I've got a feeling it's going to be like 99% of the American Sci-fi shows out there, with Battlestar being the exception that proves the rule. Besides, I miss the Yoda puppet, he had personality. Crazy lightsabre-fighting Yoda annoys me. I saw ESB in the theatres. It was epic.
you, my child, are an anachronism. go out with your peers and play with your digimon cards or whatever kids are doing these days. you might have a chance at normal life!
I've been raised on Dr Who and Blakes 7. I will never have a normal life. Teenagers don't get my cultural references!
Back on-topic, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of V. I might rewatch it some day.
I remember back in 1984 when DC made a comic book from the series. Do not know if comic book did well or not, I did'nt read it.
Scott Wolf will be playing the lead role on the new V The Star Of ABC?s V Pilot Is ? -- Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.
