Thanks to VG-Cats for the headsup of this interview, haven't seen it mentioned on TFW2005 yet.

Wow, he's really an idiot. A good moviemaker and Kojima turned him down because of the French scriptwriters and thus hadn' really talked to him? Riiiiiiiiight.

    To be perfectly polite:

    What a mewling hack.

He degrades himself by claiming that he makes movies based on shallow source material, which somehow means the movies themselves must also be shallow.

He degrades himself by claiming that if he's so horrible at moviemaking, then how did he make such great movies a rather long time ago.

He defies...I don't even know what, by decrying videogame fandoms for not being happy a movie is being made at all (Uhh??).

Geh. After all this time, he still manages to blame every single person and thing around him instead of the possibility that he's actually just...not...good...at videogame movies.

He might have a good point to make, if it weren't surrounded by so much finger-pointing and ignorance.

Anyone else find this interview sad, irritating, and funny at the same time?

The one and only good point he made in that entire interview was that the companies tend sell the movie rights to their games and then don't care what's done with them. House of the dead and Alone in the Dark are both prime examples, but not for the reasons he stated. They failed because they only slightly had anything at all to do with the souce material.

Lastly. Uwe Boll can not be alowed to make another movie ever ever again! He's got Burt Reinolds in Dungeon Siege! Goddamn Burt Reinolds! You do not put him in that type of movie. He just doesn't fit.

He then goes and ruins Postal, the one movie that could have been so awsomely bad it was good by tacking on Osama Bin Laden as a "main character" with a terorist training camp in Tucson. I don't believe Gary Coleman as a gangster version of himself can even save this trainwreck. The man knows nothing of comedy. Infact I bet the movie doesn't even end up being a comedy. Well, on purpose anyway.

I thought that loop-hole that gave him money to make movies was fixed? As in Dungeon Siege being his last movie.

He has a good point that the companies don't really care about their property once they have liscenced it out. However, I don't think he gets that the proof for that is in the fact that he is still getting video game liscences.

about postal, the developers love his ideas for the movie, and even contributed some of the retarded ideas themselves.

..................Wow, that guy is an idiot. Yes, he's right about Hollywood raping videogames, but I would still much rather watch Doom then any piece of crap Uwe Boll made. Did he ever play an Alone in the Dark game, and then see the movie? Good luck explaining that as 'in the spirit' to a gamer who isn't a retard. :stick:

If he can't get a movie based on Postal right (come on how hard would it really be?) he needs to give up.

I actually liked Doom... cliche's and streotyped characters included. I thought that the fact that they actually managed to come up with something resembling a plot considering the source material was impressive enough.
