Link found at Autobase Aichi.
Huh....it looks like Hasbro isn't the only one releasing an anime colored one then.
Looks like it to me. Hard to see the back of the jet mode, but I think I can see all the carbon scoring.
*edit: it would help if I could read Kanji of course*
The header says "USA Edition". Baring a few exceptions, that essentially the Hasbro toy in a Hasbro box with an additional Japanese sticker on the box, with the toy being a Japanese store exclusive. So you'd be better of just buying the Wal*Marte xclusive Hasbro version unless you really want to pay through the nose for an extra sticker on the box.
That one looks absolutely clean though ... I'm looking for the air brake streaks and they're not there.
Yup, saw this on F2F. They have it for preorder(right above MP Skywarp):
I want this figure bad, real bad. Also it is cheaper than BBTS.
Edit: Also noticed this: "Weathering & Marking expected to be different from US released version"
Ok. I didn't even try to translate the page, lol. It makes sense. If I do get him, I will be getting him from my local Walmart, and he'll be dyed black as soon as I could, and turned into Skywarp.
im so gettin him heres a link from the transformers website that explains that he is a walmart exclusive
Yeah, when I first read the title of the thread I was betting it was a USA edition. Too bad too because I like the Japanese MP boxes.
i'd actually prefer a non-dirty one actually.
i like the weathering of the black smoke it looks cool
This thread is not about the Wal*Mart exclusive Hasbro release, though. it's about the, erm, Takara version of the Hasbro version.
EDIT: Wrong emoticon.
actually its the walmart!
YES, Hasbro will release Masterpiece Starscream as a Wal*Mart exclusive.
But Takara will also do their OWN version of the Hasbro version. And THAT is what this thread is about.
well anyway.... is there any differences from the takara and hasbro other than the damage/weathering?
So basically we can expect the same "weathering" on it? If it's a clean edition without the crap burn marks then Takara will get 2 orders from me instead of Hasbro.
Hmm, in the UK the cost of getting one of these will probably be the same whether it comes from the US or Japan... So Japan it is. I like Japan better.
BTW Fan to Fan says:
Comes in original US packaging.Weathering & Marking expected to be different from US released version.
Yeah, but how different? It looks to be substantially reduced or gone altogether. Which for me is good news.
I can see one other main difference. The nosecone on the Takara USA Edition is blue, IIRC the Hasbro version has a silver/grey nosecone doesn't it?
Also, the scan is very small but the blue fins appear to have the red "F" pattern stripes on them, I don't recall the Hasbro one having that, the Hasbro fin patter looked more like G1 Thundercracker's.
I'm looking for more pictures of the Hasbro one to try and verify.
Again, not totally conclusive though.
All the best
