There has yet to be any announcement about a US realease. I've not a clue on UK. I wouldn't hold my breath on a US release, the figure would be too dumbed down.

given that the UK did not see MP Screamer out side of imports I would not count on it

I think they would make things less pointy, but I don't think they'd remove all the chrome.

But you Brits are screwed, haha

Yes, but I'm afraid other things will be excluded. I'm not talking about the apron or the other little crap assessories, just quality issues in general. Be afraid, be VERY afraid!

Don't count on a UK release at all - we never got Starscream, though we did get 20th Anniversary Optimus, eventually.

As for a US release - I think all will become clear in about six weeks time at Botcon. Though I think we'll be getting the chrome, personally. It is a "big ticket" item and I hope they do go the extra mile.

If a US release happens, then your best bet would be to check out Kapow Toys - chances are, Red Leader will get a few of them in.

MP is a Japanese line like Henkei, I wouldn't expect to see them released over here any time soon, probably never.

I was surprised when the States got MP SS, but bear in mind he was a Walmart exclusive. We normally get the WM exclusives in Asda, but we didn't get MP SS.

I'd advise getting Grimlock sooner rather than later, he's apparently sold out at suppliers, so it's just those left at retail/online stores.

He'll probably get a re-issue (apart from Greenscream, the rest have), but I'll be amazed if he ever gets a domestic release here.

EDIT: Got distracted, and beaten to it by a ton of other folk.

cheaper perhaps, but ultimately inferior. I could stand dulled down claws maybe, but the teeth being changed to rubber, as has been suggested, would be too much for me to accept.

One thing to consider if your main concern is the cost is what happens if he isn't released in the us/uk. If you buy one now it will probably cost about 150-190$ for the takara version. IF you hold out for a hasbro version to be announced and one is you should be able to purchase it at the lower price and resell your takara version for at least what you paid for it, if not more (consider what an mp-01 goes for (no trailer) despite there being 2 (3 if you count gun variants) releases of MP prime in north america when it wasn't even an exclusive). However, if you hold out and there is no hasbro release, the price of grimlock will likely continue to grow. Given the popularity and the current price, if he doesn't get another run very soon, patience may not be a virtue this time

The truth of the matter is, no one *really* has any idea if, when and what a Hasbro-released MP Grimlock will be. If you want an MP Grimlock, your only options are to:

    1. Buy the Takara version, or...
    2. Be patient.

I think we'll get one....eventually. This guy was designed with US and Hasbro customers in mind because from what I've always heard, Grimlock (or the Dinobots for that matter) really aren't that popular in Japan.

And I don't think the changes or the quality will be much different. Starsceam and both Primes were exceptional quality, so why not this one?
