I think Starscream and Skywarp shelfwarmed here, so I doubt it.

If anybody was in a position to divulge such information, it would probably have come up already.

Yeah, short answer is we don't know.

Starscream sold out quickly but had a horrible distributions and some Walmarts clearanced it out within a month. Odd for Walmart.

Too many Skywarps were made. Which was doubly bad because while Starscrean was the G1 deco for the 1st time, Skywarp's deco was almost the same as the Japanese MP so it shelf-warmed.

Hasbro's probably going to release Thundercracker at some point but it may be years down the line and it might go to an online retailer.

In the past, they've pretty much confirmed that they'll eventually do him. Just. Matter of when.

Hasbro has been pretty consistent with 1 new Hasbro MP each year so I expect it for 2011. 2012 should be hotrod/rodimus without trailer.

I could see Rodimus getting the hasbro release in 2011 still but i think it would be closer to the holiday season like grimlock was early fall late summer.

The caveat to this statement is they've always covered themselves by saying "We would like to release all the main seekers at some point" with an implied "but you never know because plans can and do change."

You're working on the assumption that they won't have an additional MP mold, that we aren't aware of yet, to select in one of those years.

It's a foregone conclusion that we're getting Rodimus before Thundercracker.

I don't think Hasbro would release a new mold alongside Takara releasing the new mold. It would kill a good enough demand for the Takara release. Takara doesn't release new molds every year. Since MP-01 was released in 2003, only 3 new molds + roddy have appeared.

Takara should really release prowl so they can do bluestreak, silverstreak, and smokescreen.

LOL based on past performances of thundercracker as a toy (i.e. classics and animated), you're totally right!

Didn't someone from Hasbro confirm in an interview in the TFCC mag a little while ago (or maybe somewhere else, I forget) that they intend to release MP Hot Rod without the trailer but something else new (and that came after there was some buzz from I think Toy Arena that this was a possibility)??? I thought Hot Rod was confirmed as the next MP release Hasbro wanted to do (though as has been stated here, things can change and "want to" isn't the same as "will do").

Yeah, the U.S. version of Rodimus will have new accessories to make up for the lack of a trailer. I'm hoping for a Masterpiece Targetmaster Firebolt.

Pretty sure Hasbro said in the OTFCC Magazine that Rodimus would be coming next year.

I hope so too. Thinking about it, it would better corespond to 25 years after the movie came out. Whichever comes out, I'll be happy!

Try and buy the Japanese one. Having someone paint one for you may end up more expensive. And no matter how good the paint job is, it's still going to chip.

    From whom?

Unless you can quote a reliable source it's "He tell me".

Oh, there's a deliberate holdback;... and nope there hasn't been a new mold every year. Bluestreak, Prowl, etc, at least *Takara* have some sort of recent licensing agreement with Nissan, whatever agreement Hasbro may reach with Nissan.

Unfortunately it would further underscore the fact that Porsche and VW aren't going to play ball.

Just a quick note, many if not all MP Thundercrackers were assembled with the air intakes reversed.

They can be switched but it takes a bit of patience and care.

On the paint issue, some rubbing on joints is pretty much inevitable if you get one repainted.

Although Skywarp is cheaper than Starscream... going from black to blue, rather than grey to blue, might be more tricky.
