The cell shaded version looks amazing, but I'll keep my regular one.

Just got two of these from TerryTFS's latest batch, and I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this issue before: on both, his left hip doesn't "close" properly, as pictured.
    20190315_143127.jpg

That one there is mine, and I've already attempted to repair it. I've checked all over the joint and the mushroom peg for any flash, of which I found a small amount to remove. I also filed the end of the peg that goes through the thigh down a tad, and hit the whole thing with a heat gun before clamping it. It still wants to pop apart, though, and only the screw is now preventing the closed end from opening back up. My brother's still has quite the gap - so much so that you can't actually transform him without scraping the red piece against his metal codpiece.

Obviously this mould is getting old now so it's probably just part of the wear and tear it's suffered. But on the off chance this is a known issue, or anyone has some suggestions, I figured I'd ask. I can provide more pictures of the actual joint if necessary, but please don't ask for me to remove the front part from the thigh (that takes about 15 minutes and leaves my fingertips aching with how tight it's in there).

    Cheers.

Too much risk of seizing the whole joint for that. It would have to be glued in place while on the mushroom peg, so I could potentially lose all of his hip articulation on that side (including the part necessary to transform him).

ed: OK, I may have found a solution using judicial applications of force and heat.

Basically I removed the joint again, formed it back around the top of the thigh, then hit the whole assembly with a heat gun (high speed, 100°c). You could probably do this in-situ, but I didn't want to heat anything that wasn't necessary. While it was hot, and as it cooled, I held it closed with some parallel-jaw pliers, moving the joint continually to work the two pieces into each other and ensure nothing got stuck.

So far (keep in mind it's only been a few minutes) it's holding closed properly. I did also try just using the pliers on my brother's and it closed up, but we didn't heat it and the screw thread is still short so it may pop back open with a little use.

I'll keep you posted, since this is likely to be a run-wide issue.

Anyone know if this is from Reximus? I transformed mine from bot to alt and couldn't see where it might be missing from.

I'm confident it's from Reximus as I found it in my Dino shelf and the plastic doesn't match any of the chrome Gigas

Thanks for that! It's an extremely close colour match and as it was on the same shelf I naturally assumed it was from Reximus. If not, I guess I'm going to have to try colour match it to my other bots

Picked mine up at TFcon 2019 in LA this spring... I agree. I'm very disappointed in how loose everything is. Paid $100 and the torso feels like it's made of jelly, it's so lose that I find it hard to hold while transforming. I wish I would have gotten another version, and saved my cash for something else. If you just want to him to stand, and not pose, he's fine, but otherwise, not great.

Is yours the comic colored version or the G1 toy/toon version?

For now maybe. Wait until Superator comes out. Plenty of Reximus Primes will be set free.

I somehow doubt it.... Meteor released and I saw very little to no YM starscreams set free. I'll keep an eye out, but I'm not exactly expecting it :/

I have both as well. Need to find a new home for "toon" version though as I also have FansToys Grinder. Anyone looking?

The toon one would be the one with grey plastic vs silver paint , right?

I still cannot get the Autobot insignia to slide all the way up on mine, so matter how many times I disassemble it and try to change the spring position etc. Drives me mad.

    That's a bingo.

That's a different case. Many are put off at the thought of buying a new set of seekers. Meteor also had some glaring design issues (Can't look up and hollow wings) that stopped many from switching over.

It's not the spring. It's the cavity that the symbol slides in. This video should solve your problem...
