I had a little time to give them a redesign today, taking extra care to make them 'thin' enough so that Overlord's covers cap over them nicely.
Also added those little nubs at the sides to help them stay tightly in the cavities. Gonna test them now!

The upgrades look great man. A little off topic, but what make/colour of paint did you use on Dreadnaught? That blue matches really well.

Ordered in WSFP, painted with Testors metallics silver and gold, came out great (with the standard caveat about the quality of the WSF material). Doors close almost all the way, but I think that is because of the paint and sealant, they closed all the way before I painted them when I test-fitted. They feel a bit tight putting them in, but they still pop out very easy if you lift up from the bottom (from the "head peg" part). They fit snug and do not fall out at all.

I used Gunze Sangyo Mr Color No. 328 "Blue FS15050" I believe.

Thanks for the feedback! From the image they look pretty nice mounted on like that. Thank you for painting them up so nicely and sharing :)

To be honest I was more than a bit disappointed with TR Overlord when I got him at last, but these upgrades make him feel like what he should have been in the first place.

I can't say I was disappointed. I knew what was coming because of SkyShadow, him being a "pre-tool" as he is (though admittedly with an entirely different torso). The only thing that really disappointed me with Overlord was his lack of the iconic cannon.

I can't believe this is the only shoulder kit for Overlord. Definitely going to save up for those.

By the way you don't need to remove the head to replace it, you can just remove the cap by taking out the pin and just replace that.

I ordered a pair of the Powermaster backpacks and gave one to Dreadnaut and one to a modified Scorchfire to create an updated Giga and Mega. Overlord’s own face is now attached to a spare Combiner core (from Elita-1) meaning it can still swap with any TR head, but doesn't transform into a mini figure. Mega and Giga look great, display really well and interact perfectly with his alt modes (and stand in as PM engines on other figures). Love 'em.

Went to order the mega and giga parts but it doesn't give the option of black high definition acralite for front or backpack? The fronts had a fine detail option but the backpacks only had the versatile options. fakebusker83, is there a reason it isn't an option when the description states that it was tested in high def?

Hi-Def Acrylate doesn't exist anymore, IIRC.

That sucs! How can we get it back? It worked really well for faces. fakebusker83 said the high definition plastic is kinda brittle

I personally haven't had any issues with the clear plastic (now called Smooth Fine Detail plastic). Just be careful when screwing into it, don't overtighten.
BHDA was the best, for sure, but they won't be carrying it anymore and there's nothing we can do to get it back.
