I know this has taken forever. Some of these concepts are years old.

I thought that Brawn and Outback were based on Land Rover vehicles.
    ?

Here's a useful old thread with useful URLs.

EDIT: I have altered the text below upon further research:

He looks Jeep-like. And the fact is, the Microman line that Brawn came from was never intended to be robots that turn into cars. They were robots that turned into household items. In this case, a toy that turned into a *toy* car, designed specifically to look like a Choro-Q toy car, which is another Takara product. To really answer this question, we need to find the specific Penny Racer (the name for Choro-Q around these parts) that Brawn was based on.

Either way, it's a few generations removed from whatever model it is. Even if we're putting Jeep logos on a toy that's based on another toy of a Land Rover... most people would look at Brawn and call him a Jeep. There are dozens of websites that refer to him as a Jeep, at any rate.

Sites that refer to him as a Land Rover link to pics of the 83 Defender. It's a truck with remarkable similarities to Brawn, and is doubtless the inspiration for that initial Penny Racer. But it looks like steps were taken to "Jeepify" Brawn. Note the headlights, which on a Defender should be in line with the fenders, have been moved inward to the grill, just like a Jeep. Also, peripherals impossible to the defender were added, like roof racks that would block the Defender's sky lights, as well as fender and roof mounted spotlights.

Add to that, the word "Jeep" predates the brand. It used to simply mean any new vehicle, aircraft or gadget used in the army. WordNet defines it broadly as a car suitable for travelling over rough terrain. So by that definition, this is still an "all-jeep" sticker set, and Brawn's still a jeep :)

And really, nobody's making you put ALL the stickers on your Brawn. Leave the Jeep logos off, but keep the cool detail bits.

(So are we gonna get stickers for Windcharger and Huffer eventually?)

Guys, the bump post in this thread actually adds to the thread some, so it's cool. What may not be new to us may be new to others. If you feel that a certain post does not add to the discussion of a particular project or discussion thread, please simply use the "report bad post" feature. Thanks guys, and let's try to be kind to newer Radicons :thumb
