Update: Well here he is all finished by my deadline. Hope you like. Thanks again for the custom decals Reprolabels printed for me. I took SQ7 advise on the robot, trying to keep it more all white. I like the way that came out, thanks.

By the way there's a teaser of who's next in one of the pictures.

    Hey guys,

Here's the final digital version of my Protectobot Groove (I know not a motorcycle, but it works for me). He will have vector light bar added to his roof. I hope to have the final product by July 4th. Hope y'all like and I look forward to hearing comments and ideas to improve him.

Edit the pink is actually going to be red.

Cool. He and Streetwise might look a bit too similar in the end, depending on what mold you have planned for him. It might just be me, but the pink looks a bit.....for a lack of better words, odd on him.

Thanks. I know I couldn't get it to go red enough on him for some reason. My Streetwise is RID Prowl (lambo) so they should look quite a bit different. I will attach his photos for comparison.

Ok, for some reason I was thinking that Prowl would make a good Streatwise to go along with your Groove. As for the pink you were trying to get red, what program are you using? Depending on what you're using I might be able to help you out.

I was using Photoshop, selecting color and adjusting the cyan, magenta, yellow, and black by picking certain color of my selected photo. After only getting a hot pink color I used the paint bucket to darken it to red (which it still not red).

Personally, I recomend using the Hue/Saturation levels. I'm very familiar with photoshop, as I was trained in it in High School, and also have taken a class on in in college. Though at home I use paint.net, it's free and easy to use. Not exactly like photoshop, but close enough for me to use. I use the Hue Saturation levels all the time to change the color of something easily. I also use separate layers for separate colors. Hope that helps.

I agree totally. That's why I'm trying to find something else for Afterburner when I get to that project.

If you're doing Groove as a car instead of a bike, then this is a decent choice...

However, there's something distracting about an exposed-engine muscle car in police deco (admittedly, a lamborghini police car isn't much better to be fair). Have you considered reconceiving Groove as an undercover car?

You could keep him in a "civilian" deco, and maybe just give him a single removable siren that pegs on or off his roof. A cool, laid back plainclothes police officer with a hot sports car altmode... he could be the Detective Crockett of your Protectobots! :)

Here is an update picture of the work in progress. The shell has it's primary colors on it. The next thing will be to tape of the doors & hood so I can paint the front fenders black.

I like this idea (but most of you guys know that I'm pretty fond of police cars already)! To give you a good critique, here's my advice:

    • Make the car black.
    • Only paint the doors white.
    • Remove the engine
    • A nice surprise for robot mode would be to make the robot mode pieces all white. This way you'd have a mostly black police car and a mostly white robot.

I hope my advice helps! Take it or leave it, I'm anxious to see what you come up with! Speedbreaker is a cool toy and will look great as a police car! :thumb

I think I will explore the all white robot. I will toy around with that after I finish the car parts. I haven't touch the robot stuff yet, I wanted to finish the car parts and as I put it together I can make the changes to the robot so I can try to get a more G1 feel to the robot mode in colors.

So I'm gone for a couple of days, come back, and you've already got this guy finished! I'd recommend breaking up the white in robot mode just a bit, but aside from that everything looks excellent! Props on your white paint apps (and all of your paint apps), buddy! Keep em coming! :thumb
